Frequently asked questions
How are historic Bucks Co artworks created?
Every Atlas piece begins as an original mixed-media watercolor created by Brenda Jones using an authentic nineteenth-century engraving as its foundation. Each historic engraving is thoughtfully restored and then reinterpreted by hand with watercolor, creating a collaboration between history and contemporary art.
After the original watercolor artwork is completed, it is professionally scanned to create museum-quality archival giclée prints on 100% cotton fine art paper. Original mixed-media artworks may also become available for purchase as the collection grows.
How are your floral and landscape artworks created?
My floral, landscape, and other contemporary collections begin as original watercolor paintings created entirely by hand. Once completed, each original is professionally scanned to produce museum-quality archival giclée prints on 100% cotton fine art paper.
Depending on availability, I may also offer the original painting for sale.
What is a giclée print?
Giclée (pronounced "zhee-CLAY")
A giclée print is a high-quality fine art reproduction created using archival pigment inks on museum-quality paper. It is the professional standard used by artists and galleries to reproduce original artwork.
Every print is produced on museum-quality 100% cotton cold press fine art paper, chosen for its beautiful texture, archival quality, and ability to closely resemble the original watercolor.
Are the prints ready to frame?
Yes. Prints are produced in standard frame sizes, making it easy to find ready-made frames if you choose to frame them yourself.
Care Instructions
For quick cleaning, dust your framed print with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster.
Do not display in area with direct sunlight to keep the print from fading over time.
Avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasive tools that may damage the item.
