Creativity and passion

I began creating handmade pieces when I was only a child, falling in love with every new project I undertook.

I love working with natural materials like paper, wood, fabric, leather, glass and metal, and over the years I learned tens of different techniques to give life to my dreams’ creations.
I like to "save" these materials, recycling and transforming them.

I’m very precise and detail-oriented and my creativity lies in being able to make ideas come true as easily as they came to me… this is absolutely my best talent!

I love all colours, in particular pastels and vintage ones.

In 2007, when I gave birth to my best creation, my daughter Giulia, my passion for butterflies was born. Since then, my passion never faded, on the contrary, my love for these beautiful creatures pushes to experiment and try new ideas every single day, and make new creations come to life inspired by them; creations that I always hope will end up being owned by people who like myself would love them, and creations that would in some way fill their lives with joy.

I work with lot of love and attention on each item, or piece of clothing.
Purchasing my creations you'll have a piece of me, of my history and my creativity.

All my products come from smoke, pets and corona virus free home studio.

Custom and wholesale orders are welcome.

By purchasing from "The Butterflies Shop" it assures me that you have read and accept all of my & Etsy's policies and FAQ's

Working time for custom made fabric butterflies (necklace, hair pins, etc..) and raw stones jewelry is up to 1 week.
For custom made lingerie and clothings is up to 2 weeks.
So if you need an items by a certain date, please convo me before to buy it. I always do my best to make you happy!

CANCELLATIONS
I work hard to ensure that you have your order out in a timely fashion so I start the creation process immediately after placing the order. For this reason I don't accept cancellations.

RETURNS
All my items are handcrafted, customized and personalized with care and love therefore I don’t usually accept returns or exchanges unless the fault was mine.
I'm a very careful person, so I think items will arrive in excellent condition.
But if anything is wrong with your item, I'm willing to help and cooperate so please contact me.

EXCHANGES
I usually accept exchanges for 30% restocking fee on item total.
If you need to exchange an item, please contact me within 3 days of delivery.
The item must be in new and undamaged condition.
Buyer will pay any price difference for the items exchange and is responsible for return shipping costs, included customs charges.
Buyer must insure the package and also provide tracking number to me within 24 hours of the date that the tracking number was provided.
Buyer will need to re-pay shipping and handling costs before I will send the package again.

Custom ans personalized orders aren't returnable in any reason.

Returns are not accepted for intimate items included earrings.

RETURNED MAIL
If a package is returned to me for the following reasons:
The address provided via Etsy by the buyer was not correct or incomplete, or if the package once attempted to be delivered is unclaimed, I don't offer a refund.
I will offer the possibility to have the package re-shipped once postal services send it back to me (it can take 1 to 4 months).
I will send a message to confirm shipping address, and the buyer will need to re-pay shipping and handling costs before I will send the package again.
Returned orders can't be cancelled and refunded.

ITEM WARRANTY
In the description of each of my creations you will read that these are very delicate products, which must be treated with care.
Keep this in mind before and after your purchase!
With every purchase you will also receive the care instructions, which if you scrupulously follow, will allow you to give a long life to your purchase.
I can't offer a guarantee on delicate products like these, because their duration depends exclusively on your care.

FEEDBACKS / CASES
Before to leave a negative review, or open a case in Etsy, please contact me.
Every item is created with love and attention to details but if somenthing goes wrong, we can work together to make both happy. Without your contact, probably we will be both unhappy.
Problems can be solved by speaking: we are both human.

Shipping
Your order will be shipped from Italy and will fly to you with Registered Airmail by Poste Italiane, that is fully trackable with tracking number, in almost any countries of the world (except to Canada and Australia, in my experience).

If you are interested in Insured Airmail, or other ways, please convo me before to pay the order.

I usually go the post office 2 or 3 times in a week.

You can find the tracking number in your Etsy orders. I always send a message with the tracking number when order is completed.

To pick up the shipment you will have to sign on delivery.
In my experience, if you are not at the destination address, a notice will be left on the day of delivery.
You will have a few days to agree on a new delivery of the shipment (each country has its own rules), after which the shipment will be returned to the sender (me) as unclaimed. The costs for a new shipment are at the buyer's expense. Returned orders can't be cancelled and refunded.

Delivery time (business days): Italy 3/5 days, Europe 5/9 days, U.S.A. 10/18 working days, Japan 10/18, Rest of the World 18/22 days.

Delivery times are indicative and sometimes not real.
It may happen that the postal service or customs hold the package even for several weeks, for reasons unknown to me. This is unfortunately out of my control, sorry!
In the event of important delays in delivery, which go beyond the 6 weeks, I will open a complaint with the Poste Italiane service and proceed with a new shipment of your order.
I apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by delivery delays, even if they are not due to me. Thanks for your understanding!

During holiday periods, such as Christmas, delivery times will be slower, due to the intense traffic in international shipping.
Do you want to receive your purchases in time for Christmas? My advice is to place your order by mid-November.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

My jewelry has not been sealed with paint or other sealant.
I use copper, brass, sterling silver and other plated metals.
All of the pertinent information for all individual pieces are listed in the description in full.
Everything is Nickel free.

Please remember to remove every jewelry piece before bathing, cleaning or sleeping.
Please keep them out of water and solvents/soaps.
My creations are very delicate and should be treated with extra care!

ALL ABOUT COPPER
Wearing copper has several important benefits.
Copper is an essential mineral for humans, and wearing copper jewelry has the benefit of slow copper absorption- perfect for proper assimilation.
It’s also been claimed that headaches, arthritis and joint pain.
Copper reacts naturally with our salty skin (which can be created whenever we sweat) or with cer­tain hand lo­tions and parfumes, and sometimes turns skin green.. it’s totally normal!
To avoid this, you can apply a polymer coating to rings to act as a barrier between skin and the metal. Nail polish is one option. Be aware you'll need to reapply the coating from time to time since it will wear away.
I'll not refund or accept a return because your finger turns green.
Keep in mind that the green staining on your skin from your copper jewelry is not permanent and can be easily washed away with soap and water!

The best way to bring back luster to any piece of jewelry is to use a jewelry polishing cloth that can be easily purchased at most jewelry stores, online, and at many drugstores.
Don't use polishing cloth on gemstones.
There are many homemade methods to clean copper, like ketchup, lemon+salt, vinegar+salt, etc... but never never never use these acids on gemstones!

ETHIOPIAN OPALS AND HOW TO CARE FOR THEM
Keep your Ethiopian Opals away from water and liquids.
Ethiopian Opals are "hydrophane", which makes them thirsty for water. If the opals come in contact with water, they will absorb it like a sponge and they may lose their fire turning yellow or brown.
Avoid liquid chemicals around your Ethiopian Opals.
Liquids like perfumes, soaps and cleaning products can stains your opals and change their colour.
Do not expose your Opals to extreme changes in temperature.
Avoid manual labour when wearing your Opals.
When wearing opal jewellery, you should remember its moderate hardness and toughness. It rates 5.5 to 6.5 on Moh's scale of hardness. This puts them below quartz (7) and emeralds (7.5 to 8) and above pearls and coral (3 to 4). This means that it is best to take off your opal rings (jewelry in general) when trying to build a bookshelf or weed your garden!

Personally, Ethiopian Opals are my favourite gemstones. Their beautiful flashes of fire in all colours of the rainbow makes them so magical and unique. And if you take care of them properly, they can last you a lifetime and more.
