A Weeble Wobble That Won’t Fall Down

A Weeble Wobble? For those of you that were children in the 70’s, you may remember the iconic egg shaped toys that would not lay down. They always bounced back up no matter what you did to them. Trust me I tried. *Laughing* I even dropped them through a knot hole in the old floor of a farm house that we lived in and ran to the basement so sure that this time they would stay down. They never did.

Growing up I was a creative child with a wild imagination. Drawings and stories were my favorite past time when I wasn’t trying to make that Weeble Wobble fall down.

As I became an adult I quickly discovered that those skills would not pay the bills so out came the analytical side of me. That was until the web made it possible to combine all those skills. I worked hard, volunteered hard and raised an awesome daughter that of whom I couldn’t be more proud.

Life has a way of telling us we need to slow down and if we don’t listen our bodies will make us. Almost 2 years now I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. Determined that this disease was not going to knock me down, I took on the Weeble Wobble mentality. Each time a new side effect tried to knock me over I found a way to bounce back up.

A side effect of one of the treatments left my hand shaking. Determined that this was not going to be my life, I started the hobby of making chainmaille jewelry. There was A LOT of flying little rings to begin with then slowly the sporadic shaking of the hands slowly faded and I got my control back.

Now that I have inundated my family and friends with my jewelry and sold a few pieces locally, I decided to open an Etsy Shop upon the urging of the world’s most supportive husband.

The name of the shop was originally going to be Tiwikest, an amalgamation of my family’s first names, but no one could figure out how to say it. *Laughing* So then I look at my favorite flower and my Scottish heritage. Not wanting to forget the Irish side, I decided to use Celtic. That is how “The Celtic Daisy” got its name.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I love custom orders! Custom orders can be accepted for any of my pieces in alternate metals like Sterling Silver or Gold. The price will be determined off of current metal costs. Please feel free to contact me!

Bright Aluminum Care Instructions

Bright aluminum is extremely light weight and has a high surface shine. It is much cleaner than regular aluminum wire and because of that, you will see less oxidation. Unlike silver, aluminum will not tarnish. When it starts to dull with wear and dirty, you can return the shine by putting it in the palm of your had and gently rubbing it with dish soap. The simple blue dawn soap works nicely. It if is real dirty, you may want to soak in soapy water for a few minutes first. Gently blot and then let it air dry.

Copper Care Instructions

Copper is a high maintenance material if you want to keep that new shiny look. If you are not into that new shiny copper look, then you will be happy on how quickly a patina will develop. Cooper may also discolor your wrist once the patina sets in. This discoloration washes off. When cleaning be sure to take care if there are soft stones and beads. There are many commercial cleaners to bring the shine back. However if you want to do it naturally, then lemon juice is your answer unless you have a soft stone or bead as acid can damage them. Place the jewelry in bowl or cup and pour lemon juice over it. A couple TBS will due. Be sure to turn it over so to get it all evenly. Do NOT leave it in the acid of the lemon for long periods.

Silver Plated or Silver Filled Care Instructions

If you like the look of silver but not the price, then silver plated or filled may be the answer for you. Silver plated is less durable than silver filled. Silver-filled offer a layer hundreds of times thicker than silver plating – 10% silver filled. Silver needs to be stored in an airtight bag or container to prevent tarnishing. Again there are commercial cleaners for silver plated or filled jewelry, but you can also use baking soda. Make a paste with baking soda and use an old soft bristle toothbrush to gently scrub the piece. Be careful around any beads or stones so not to scratch them. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.

I am happy to repair any item in with the ring has opened or is coming apart. The only cost to you will be the shipping costs. Special order items may have the cost of material if material needs to be replace. Please be sure to insure your item as I am not responsible for any item lost in shipping.

Machine VS Saw Cut

I sell jewelry created with both saw cut and machine cut rings at this time. I will be slowly transitioning to only saw cut rings.
• Saw cut rings have a flat smoother cut and therefore the rings have a smoother finish when closed. These provide a better finished appearance on the final product. They also have a less chance of snagging clothing.
• Machine cut rings have small divots on the outside of the ring where it was cut. These are used when we are sampling new designs. Therefore these are considered sample items by me and are sold as is with no refunds available.

What age is the jewelry intended for?

The Celtic Daisy creations are jewelry and accessories intended for adults and collectors over 14 years old. They are not suitable for children as will not stand up to vigorous play and they include small parts that could easily be swallowed.

General Handling and Sizing

Please handle your jewelry with care as certain designs are more delicate than others. Chainmaille links can be pulled apart since they are not soldered. Also be aware of household cleaners as some chemicals can damage jewelry. Please see each metal type below for wear and care information.

I do my best to provide accurate size of the item in the listing. Please take a measurement whenever possible to insure proper fit. You can use a string to determine the width of your wrist or determine the length of a necklace. Lay the string by a ruler to see your measurement. If it is for a bracelet, be sure to add a ½” to the measurement so it is not a tight fit.

Additional Returns and Exchanges Information

My goal is for my customers to be 100% satisfied with their order.

I am happy to work out an exchange or credit to my store. Exchanges are accepted or credit only given if the item is returned in it's original condition unworn or unused and only if it is in it's original packaging.

The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.

Special order sales are final.

Exchanges/credits are not given for products that are described as a “sample” in the description. These are final sales.
