a few pots among friends

This shop features work made by firiends and potters from central Pennsylvania, USA. Ian Stainton, Jason Bloom, and Jake Johnson contribute most of the pieces sold here.
When Ian and Jake started sharing studio and kiln space in 2011, we thought it made sense to sell some work jointly on Etsy, and also that it would be a great opportunity to feature some future collaborative efforts. What are friends for, if not a little joint venture into the world of online commerce?! Jason is another local potter and friend. All 3 do some of their firing at a salt kiln in Zion, PA. Each makes his living in clay. Ian and Jason have both worked at potteries (on both sides of the pond, in Ian's case), and Jake holds an MFA in ceramics.

Hello and thanks for checking us out!

The Ceramics Gallery on Etsy features pots made by experienced potters in central Pennsylvania. We sell mostly the work of Ian Stainton. Ian came to the US from England and has been making a living in clay since 1979. We also sell pieces by Jake Johnson, who shares part of Ian’s studio, and who came to Pennsylvania from Illinois to pursue an MFA at Penn State. In the future, we hope to feature some collaborative work. Everything is made by hand from start to finish. All glazes are lead-free and food-safe. We ship quickly via either FedEx or the post office. Thanks very much for your interest in our shop!
