I ordered two of these from Dee and I was not disappointed with either. She sent me pictures of her work before she shipped it to me to make sure that I was completely satisfied with her work. I wore mine the day I received it and I was complemented on it so many times. It makes the most amusing tinkling sound when I move my head. My husband said I sounded like a fairy! LOL! Dee, you are an amazing artist and a wonderful person. Keep doing what you do.

About

"How many bowls do you need?"

My husband asked me one day as I was working on my lathe. And I thought that's a silly question, it's not about the bowls, it's about the process. I enjoy making things, holding them in my hands and saying "I made this".
Of course on a more practical level he was right, there is only so much space in my little apartment. So this shop was born. A way to feed my need to create, a way to pay for the supplies for my next project, who knows in a few years, maybe a way to retire from my day job :-)

______________
Anodizing of metal creates a beautiful layer of color, which like all plating’s will wear through eventually. How long this takes depends on wear and environmental factors, like contact with abrasives and strong cleaners. If your piece starts to look dull or dirty clean it gently with warm water and a mild dish soap. Pat dry gently. Be careful, many “jewelry” cleaners contain fine abrasives witch will damage the color of anodized metal.

Wood is a natural, and some would argue, still living, material. Some of the wildest grain is found around natural stress points in the wood. Knots cracks and voids are common around these points and are considered part of the appeal of the piece.
