A novel of wartime romances at its best! With their fiances and husbands fighting WW II, the women of Abbottsville NJ create an incredible bond. What does Helen learn while volunteering at the Veterans Hospital in nearby Atlantic City? How does Bernice care for her former lover while discerning to be a nun and deal with an unexpected inheritance? What does Laureen overhear while visiting her hospitalized fiance? What does Joan's trip over the trap door in the Vespers Shop reveal? How does Annie's shop fire and fall turn Helen's house into a dorm? And the action is not only on the home front. Despite life-threatening injuries abroad, the men share a similar friendship and loyalty. Humor and a series of mishaps and surprises culminate in an undeniable renewal of Faith, Hope, and Love for Christmas 1944. A must read!

Another heartwarming and wholesome story, this second book in the Serve Series portrays the strength of the women of that era as well as the men on the battlefield. Set in the the Spring and Summer of 1944, Author Whittaker has thoroughly researched the battles and secret missions the men participate in. On the home front, the women plant a Victory Garden, donate blood, support their church and develop a tremendous support system through friendship and love. The ladies deal with tough situations in a realistic way. The difficulties and worries of the war definitely does not stifle their humor! The action never stops in this captivating read.
The Christmas Cafe shop offers wonderful customer support and very fast shipping.

Truly an uplifting story focusing not only on the men's Call to Serve in the military during WWII but also on the women's Call to Serve their lovers and each other with friendship, love, dedication, and humor. A delightfully wholesome read, Author Whittaker passionately and eloquently relates the character's joys, sorrows, and worries. I heard about this book from a friend who ordered it from Amazon and am delighted to see it now on Etsy. I can not wait to read the next book in this intriguing series!
