Welcome to our shop, the Country Bluebird! We have recently added several new preemie and baby doll blankets to our Preemie/Doll blanket section; the preemie blankets range in size from 22-33 sq. inches. In our newborn blanket section, we have a little larger blankets ranging from 34-38 sq. inches. If you are looking for a blanket that will work well as your baby rapidly grows or as lightweight cover or snuggle for your toddler, check out our baby/ toddler blanket section!

Welcome to my shop, the Country Bluebird!
My daughters provided the encouragement for the shop and a bluebird in our yard provided the inspiration for the name.
We are a home-schooling family with seven children, of whom three girls are still at home. I’m excited to see that my girls― Kerstin, Elisabeth, and Gabrielle― have an appreciation for handmade treasures for the home and a desire to create them.
My mother, Helen, who passed away 17 years ago, encouraged me to start sewing at a very young age by giving me fabric from her stash. Some of my most treasured memories are of our visits to the fabric store. We rarely were out of the store before they shut the lights out for closing! She also taught me to appreciate nice things for the home. A dear friend Agnes, who was like an auntie to me, taught me to knit. I’m glad to be able to pass these skills on to my daughters.
Over the years I’ve sewn clothing for my children. I hope to soon have skirts and toddler-sized hunting outfits to offer in my shop.
