About

A country schoolmarm who has heart for well-loved items from years gone by...

I am a teacher. I love the country. I am an old soul at heart. I am a country schoolmarm. I have a soft spot for things from years gone by. Give me your tired, torn, frayed, chipped, and cracked! This love is what inspires me in the handmade items that I offer as well as vintage items that I offer here as well. I hope my goods warm your heart and home!

What is the inspiration for my "Old Attic Dolls"?
I imagine a dusty, forgotten attic. A rusty bike in one corner. Maybe an old dollhouse or rocking horse. Trunks and old boxes strewn about. What does time do to a once beloved doll? Seams become loose. An arm may be held on by a rusty pin. Holes, missing eyes, patches, and heavy stitching. Floppy bodies and grungy, ripped clothing. Mismatched buttons and thinning or missing hair. Stuffing sticking out or thick rags to refill bodies that are missing some of their filling. This is what my extreme primitive dolls are all about. This is my inspiration for my "Old Attic Dolls". They are made to look loved to pieces.

A note about my dolls... My dolls are OOAK, original designs that are created and handmade by me. No patterns are used in their creation. All dolls are extremely prim and made to look like they have been loved for many years. They go through a long process of distressing to give them this look. They are torn and tattered with many holes, stitches, broken seams, and floppy limbs. They are made from a variety of old and new materials. They are stuffed with clean rags and sometimes a little fiberfil. Hair is usually made from natural materials such as alpaca wool, sheep wool, flax, and cotton. They may have vintage buttons or little vintage or rusty treasures. They are stained with a mixture of coffee and cinnamon. If you have questions about a doll’s construction, please feel free to ask them before making your purchase. These dolls are made for display only. They are not suitable for young children.

I do not do custom orders, as each item is unique.

All items that are handmade by me are signed and dated. They are created in a smoke-free, but NOT pet-free (2 dogs...) environment.

Vintage items that are not handmade by me are "As Found", and I will do my best to list or show any imperfections. However, they are prim! Please look at the pictures carefully and ask questions.
