From My Family to Yours
As long as I can remember, I've been creating anything and everything. Being artistic has always been fun for me and brings back wonderful memories of family and school. One of my earliest memories was making soda bottle people with my Mom and sister by using random objects that were laying around the house. I also remember my Dad and I creating a diorama about the California Gold Rush for school. I remember days with my sister playing oustide in the bushes with Barbie's and plastic Army soldiers. We would pretend that the bushes were their "treehouses." Those were wonderful days when you had to use your imagination to entertain yourself rather than watch televison or play video games for fun. So, I guess I can say that I inherited and cultivated my creativity from and through my family.
As a child, I always dreamed of having a job where I would use my creativity as a strength. However, life has it's own way of telling you what will happen sometimes. I joined the Army...yes the Army! A far cry from the creative job that I thought I would have as an adult. Though it wasn't what I set out to do as a child, I loved the Army! Serving my country was an honor and has had it's long lasting impressions on me. I learned how to be self sufficient, dedicated, and strong from the Army. These were things that you expect to learn from the military. What I didn't expect was that I did use my creativity in the military. I was asked to paint aviation wings onto wood so they would hang in our unit's hanger. I painted our unit crest onto our battalion meeting room wall. I created a character drawing for our retiring brigade commander. I also painted a large rock during training in Fort Irwin, California. The rock was airlifted to an area just outside of Fort Irwin where other units would paint rocks to show their unit pride. My rock made it onto a post card and is now something that I have to show my kids. It's a lesson to me and them that no matter what job you have in life, your imagination can be used anywhere and at anytime.
Today, I am a stay at home mom still raising my wonderful kiddos, Jacob and Heather and my other two babies Desi and Lucy! My husband Paul is now retired and works on Fort Hood with soldiers who are deploying and returning home from deployments. Until recently, I also worked on Fort Hood with nurse case managers to assist in the medical care for the Wounded Warrior Unit. I had to give up my job due to my medical problems. I now have all the time in the world to dedicate to my shop.
I originally opened my shop with the intent of drawing and painting. As you can see though, my shop turned into an eclectic assortment of everything. I cannot stay focused on just one craft. I see something new and HAVE to make it. I see pictures of a new product and HAVE to buy it. I am Rebecca and I am a craft hoarder! I have it all: beads, scrapbook paper, ribbon, unfinished wood, ceramics, paints, charcoal, water paints, a Cricut machine, felt, fabric, a sewing machine, and now an embossing machine. With my "toys", I want to make beautiful, quality products that everyone loves! My greatest joy is to make something and see someone's face light up because they love what I made! My hope is that my customers will return because they love their quality made items and they want more of them. I want my inherited artistic nature to be passed on to you from my family to yours through my workmanship and products!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and for visiting my shop! I hope you find something that you love!!!
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
Welcome! I am a lover of all things crafty, artistic, and creative. I welcome custom orders, discovering new crafts, and creating new products. I am a wife, lover of music, and mom to two beautiful kiddos and two adorable dacshunds!
This is Lucy. Yes, she is named after Lucille Ball! It seemed fitting with her red hair. She is the sweetest dog ever! She hates the cold like all dachshunds do and I have to keep a blanket in the craft room for her at all times. She is my baby!
My adorable crafting buddy, Desi! No matter what I am making, he is with me! He is my vicious guard dog and will chew your toe off if you mess with his momma! Crafting would not be the same if I wasn't tripping or stepping on him!
There is nothing worse than buying an item on the internet only to receive it and realize that you hate your purchase. I don't ever want this to be the situation for my customers. I want my customers to return to my shop with eagerness and confidence because they know they will receive quality merchandise that is made with love and care.
