The Crooked Pinky
I'm Teena! A mother of two, one of each. Kamden + Kyler. They are my entire world. I am married to my amazing and supportive wife, Cara. We have two fur babies together. Lucky + Louie. Now that we got all the important, personal shenanigans out of the way...
My obsession with jewelry started when I bought my very first pair of earrings at 13. After that, I couldn't help myself. From then on and up until I graduated high school in 2004, I could never leave my house without my jewelry. Now, we're not talking a pair of earrings, necklace, and a ring. I had earrings in all 3 holes, in each ear, a necklace, and a ring on every finger. Yes, every finger! Tacky?! Yes, but I loved every single piece. They were big pieces too! The bigger the better to me! My senior year, I decided to make a ring for my senior project. That's when I decided I wanted to continue that passion.
After I graduated, I decided to take a jewelry course. They sent me books and all the materials I needed. I realized that I wanted to do physical classes so I found a class in NYC. So, for 12 weeks, every weekend, I would drive 4 hours to attend a 7 hour jewelry class. I completed that class in 2005 while being pregnant with my son, Kamden. After having him in 2006, I only made jewelry every now and then and it was only a hobby when I had time. After having my daughter, Kyler in 2007, moving to DE and HI in my past marriage, I lost touch with all of that.
Now, 2013, I reside in NJ and I have never felt so crafty and ready to share it with others. I absolutely love making jewelry and other crafts and I hope my pieces catch your eye as well and you can enjoy it as much as I do!
Now, since you know the short story about me, let me give you a little info about the name of my shop. I really wanted a name that was catchy but also personal. This name could not be any more personal than this. While I lived in Hawaii for 2 years, I was captain for a womens flag football team. We played for fun but who plays to lose?! Not my team. Not The Falcons. Well, my poor pinky's had the worst of it! The first year I played, I was running for a touchdown and I got tackled. I did what you SHOULD NOT do, and put my hands down in front of me. Completely breaking my pinky in 3 places. After being in this ridiculous, elephant trunk looking cast for 6 weeks, I am left with a crooked pinky. So, with that being said...
