Announcement   ***Welcome to The Dread Bead Shop!***
~FREE SHIPPING FOR EVERYONE IN UK!!
Here you will find unique hand crafted dread lock beads and crochet hooks made using fimo polymer clay and a selection of other magical dread adornments collected on travels in India.
Made in a 320 year old farmhouse in rural Northern England. Please read on...

Listings in the shop are for one bead. If more than one is available, a drop down menu will appear to select how many you'd like. Search by size using the shop sections.
PLEASE DO CHECK SIZES before purchase. This means not only the diameter hole size but the measurements of the actual bead itself. Some beads in the shop are quite a bit larger than others and range in price depending on the sizer and the amount of work that goes into each one.

Most (if not all) items are photographed under a light box. I have a slight obsession now with product photography and clean white backgrounds...hoping to get some nicer shots of the beads outside but the weather can be wild up here!! Instagram shows you more shots of the beads in more natural lighting @thedreadbeadshop

Measuring the diameter of your dreads ~ get a ruler.....choose any dread at any point down it's length and measure it's diameter (squeeze the dread slightly with your finger as if wearing a bead). Measure across the width of your dreads......do this with quite a few dreads. You may find that you can fit from 6mm right up to 12mm!!

I'll be doing sporadic giveaways and collaborations with other artists so make sure to follow on facebook and instagram @thedreadbeadshop

You will be sent a discount code on your first purchase which you can use again and again until it expires.

I aim to dispatch most orders same or next day after purchase, although sometimes can be held up a little longer if the shop is busy and I've got a heavy work load.

At times I may close the shop while I'm away trading on my stall at festivals, in India or working on my handmade jewellery and fair trade business...

Thank you for looking, and massive gratitude for all of you who continue to support my work.

Love and light,

About

Hand sculpted intricate art beads ~ Fimo Clay

Hand crafted in my home studio ~ set in the wilds of Northumberland, England. I'm enchanted by my surroundings, always living with the celebration of the seasons. I feel connected to nature, creativity and music, they help to feed my creative energies.

Selling my work on Etsy helps me to live out my little dream that I'm living. I love to make intricate designs to use both in my dread bead designs and jewellery
(My jewellery shop here on Etsy ~ www.etsy.com/uk/shop/supremilyjewellery )

I run a little stall at summer festivals and trade at a weekly market selling fair trade gifts and ethnic jewellery. I travel to India for business every two years or so to collect treasures. My cycle of making for the dread bead shop happens mostly in my times at home in between Festival season, my travels and Christmas market season.

The freedom to create my life is something I cherish with gratitude daily. Balancing love, art, long walks, yoga, friends and family, the urge to travel is something I'm slowly mastering. I'm getting used to the cycle of my year, the ebb and flow of creativity. The ebb and flow of finances!

Follow The Dread Bead Shop on instagram and facebook @thedreadbeadshop
I post new sculpted designs (limited edition) new listed work, discount codes and snippets of my travels/home life. Join me!

2018 is set to be rather special.....watch this space!

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.

Information I Collect

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order , for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 5 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 7 days of delivery
I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
I can take absolutely no responsibility for items lost in the post.
For large orders, tracked and signed for postage is fully recommended. Option to purchase shipping upgrades on checkout.

If your items arrive damaged (though very unlikely) I can offer a full refund or exchange.

I offer no refunds if your beads have been damaged by personal use. It is vital that you do not force a bead onto a dread that is too big for the hole size of the bead. Polymer clay is a very durable material yet as these are handmade solely for the purpose of fitting onto the correct dreadlock, I cannot be held responsible for any breakages that have been caused weeks after purchase.

If you are not happy with your order, you have 14 days to return the item/s in their original condition and a full refund for the items will be given. I cannot refund postage costs, so do make sure that you are happy with your order and have the correct sizes before purchase.
Payment
Payment is by paypal, credit or debit card.
You now don't have to register with Etsy to make a purchase.
Shipping
I post from the UK to the whole world!
USA 5-7 working days
Europe 3-5 working days
Australia 7-10 working days
Set postage rates, I don't make any money on postage. I usually dispatch same day or next day if after 2pm. I will always contact you if postage is delayed for any reason.
If you would like tracking on your order, this option can be selected on checkout for an extra cost.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note I am not responsible for covering any customs costs incurred by your country. I always mark items as 'other' and fill out a customs label describing exactly what is in the boxes contents.
All items are delivered in a cardboard postal box which is the perfect size for fitting in a post box.
