These are so great. The custom shirts came out just as we worked out.

Elegant Chessmen, from cosplay to garb and everything in between

Going to the Maryland Institute College of Art as a General Fine Arts major, I did a little bit of everything. Upon entering art school, I thought I was a painter - and I thought that the crafts that I grew up with were not "Fine Art." As I worked my way through the program - those changed (being told by my painting professor "not to waste any more paint until I learned to draw" as a big step in that direction) and I slowly became a fibers artist.

With a costumer as a roommate and a love of scifi and fantasy, falling into the work of cosplay and garb was not a far fall. Needing a part time job lead me to working for the Maryland Renaissance Festival, and to another seamstress (@Craftsmeisters) who took me under her wing and taught me the "right" ways to do all the sewing I had patched together from cosplay experience/fibers classes/ and Home Ec classes in middle school.

Seeing my fellow employees pay high prices for garb that fell apart before the end of the season (one blouse did not even last until the end of the day she bought it without the elastic popping) I decided to start making and selling the high quality garb that I was not finding at my Festival - and sharing that with the rest of the world via Etsy.

I am excited to see my creations at other festivals, and love making things that people commission me - one of a kind pieces I hope that they enjoy wearing as much as I enjoy making for them.

As a General Fine Arts major at art college, I had a roommate that introduced me to the world of anime cosplay. From there, I have fallen into the world of Renaissance Faires and garb necessary for my fellow employees at Maryland Ren Faire.
