Even though I was hoping this skirt would arrive in April, when I found out that wasn't possible, I was happy for her to take her time. And I LOVE this cute skirt!! She modified it perfectly for me. And I'll be wearing it a lot. Thank you! Just know that you need to give her as much time to create your beautiful piece. To give you an idea of how long, I bought it on Jan 24, and it arrived on May 15.

About

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a girl who felt out of place in this modern era. She fell in love with clothes and accessories from the 1930s - 1950s and knew from then on out she would dedicate all her spare time to picking, selling and sewing vintage frocks from the early mid century to share her love of fashions past with others like minded.

I wear 1930's - 1950's vintage style clothing every day. I am a dedicated vintage fashion enthusiast. After working in the vintage clothing market for many years I decided as tried and true vintage clothing snob, I wanted to start sewing repro vintage from vintage patterns to my own expectation - made EXACTLY as they would have originally been made. I have been a seamstress for years.... making clothing from original vintage patterns...but sewing for others of ALL sizes is my greatest passion. (plus size ladies, I am here for you!!!) I am obsessed with vintage details - from the sewing technique, the trims. the embroidery, the studs and rhinestones, ah yes, the the details. I *love* making vintage repros that are repro to the extreme...if you want a newly made vintage dress with pinked seams, vintage repro prints & vintage or vintage(ish) rayon fabric as possible/ vintage metal zipper/ hand embroidery/ hand beading and rhinestones/ hand finished details I am your girl!.... (of coarse I am always happy to finish with modern finishes as well!)

Don't see a pattern listed you like? I can hand draft ANY pattern from scratch! Simply message me and let me know what you want made and I can make it happen.

How it works:

1. Pick a pattern and place your order. Keep in mind I will need over 10 weeks to complete your garment before it ships.

2. I do not keep any fabrics 'in stock' at my house. After the order is made I will message you and ask you what your vision is for your custom made item. What sort of fabric did you have in mind? What color scheme? I have included up to $10 per yard for the fabric into the cost of most garments. Most dresses take 3 -4 yards. If the fabric you choose is more expensive then the budgeted amount then there will be an additional cost to cover the added expense.

3. Once we sort out what type of fabric you want I will message you with links from my usual on-line fabric shops to some fabric swatches to choose from that I think you will like.

4. Alternatively, if you already have the fabric you want your garment made out of you may ship it to me to use for your order. In this case I will offer you a 15% discount since you have provided the fabric. Keep in mind I will need at least 3-4 yards minimum for most dresses.

5. Next I will message you with a full list of measurements I will need to make your garment fit perfectly. Heads up, you will need a tape measure!

6. Now just sit back and relax. Your order will be custom made for you.

Frequently asked questions:

1. Do you have swatches of your available fabrics for me to look at?

No. I don't stock any fabrics at my home. Instead I order the fabric for each order online from one of several fabric vendors. After your order is made I will message you asking about your fabric preference and then I will send you links to several fabric swatches to look at to choose from.

2. Do you have a showroom I can visit / pick my order up at?

Answer- No. I work from home and my sewing room is teeny tiny - the smallest bedroom in our already very small house. So no, I don't have brick and mortar destination for you to visit. Your order will be shipped via USPS.

3. Do you offer a discount for multiple orders?

Answer- No. I have only worked in my actual cost for fabrics and supplies plus an hourly wage for my labor into my cost. If I give a discount I will be working for less per hour then I am able to accept. Would you want to work overtime for less pay? Me neither.

4. Do you wholesale?

Answer - No.

5. Can you make a copy of one of my beloved vintage dresses that is starting to fall apart?

Answer - Yes! Either send me the dress or send me several detailed pictures of the dress and I can make you a copy.

6. Can you make me a dress based on a vintage fashion illustration or photo?

Answer - Yes! Send me a picture of the illustration/photo and I will do my best.
