Announcement   I believe what you wear and what you display in your home should represent you as a feminine women; should feel and look simply stunning , the textiles should make you want to feel and snuggle up to it , the colours should bring out the best in you and your home. I endevour to bring that to you with TheFeminineTouch.

** HALF PRICE SALE ** CLEARANCE ITEMS ** ALL READY TO SHIP NOW **

All accessories have been uniquely designed and crafted by me. Inspired by other artists I put my own twist on items , bringing out the qualities of the fabrics and woolly yarns that I use. I love 100% wool , cashmere and mohair / silk mix yarns. But sometimes you will find that I use wool and acrylic mixes to bring you a lower cost item.

I love to bring out the textual elements of the yarn, so you will see lots of cabling , textual and lace patterns used. I have a passion for delicate colourful lace mohair knits and chunky cables too! My greatest passion though is taking moth eaten old sweaters and turning them back into life, so look out for these in my shop too.

I'm not sure that you can class my shop as high fashion , but I am trying to bring you stylish, classic, fashionable , colour coordinated accessories in a sustainable way.

I totally run this shop myself , designing and crafting , photographing & listing , packaging & posting, is all under my control. I bring in the help of my daughter , Michelle to do a little modelling of my accessories.

I have a web site too , which brings my blog and Etsy shops together in one - http://www.thefemininetouchdesigns.co.uk/

with chance of a free pattern too !!!!! , you choose which one here - http://www.thefemininetouchdesigns.co.uk/freepattern.html

About

Knitted and Felted Accessories with "The Feminine Touch"

I have always done a little craft work during my younger days. I remember sewing new outfits for Friday night outs with the girls. Nothing out of the ordinary, but just good quality tops and trousers, always fully colour coordinated. And then again when my daughter was born (25 years ago) I created lovely knitted garments and nifty little shorts and waistcoat combinations.

And then life as a single parent took over. Looking after the house and making sure the family was happy and that I was always bringing in the money. My creativity came out in my home decorating , bright feature walls and gold stencilling became my obsession.

My Etsy shop was created as a means of providing some sort of living for me when I retire from my full time IT job in the summer of 2013. I knew that I wanted to work for myself , I wanted to keep on learning new skills and generally enjoy what I do. This seemed perfect.

I wanted to create high quality wool / mohair / cashmere etc items, things to wear or have in your home. As I was learning as I went on, then uniqueness was going to be the order of the day. I have dozens and dozens of books that I use as inspiration and I have attended quite a few knitting and crochet workshops to try and improve my skills.

I've also got a thing about making something from virtually nothing , re-using material or yarn , picking things up from car boot sales and charity shops. You will see this in my felted bags and cushions , re-utilising old wool sweaters that have seen better days brings a great sense of achievement.

I have recently started developing my skills in knitwear design and now have self published a number of my designs as knitting patterns , selling here on Etsy and on Ravelry and Craftsy too. I have even managed to get some of my patterns published in knitting magazines. You can read about my 1st one here - http://bloglaunchfemininetouch.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/my-first-2-patterns-featured-in.html

I do everything related to my shop , from thinking up ideas , finding the right yarns, knitting up the items , promoting my shop like mad and sending out deliveries. And its all done from my home in Yorkshire, England.

I think the whole thing about crafting and selling on Etsy is that I'm embarking on a great journey , exploring new ideas and ways of doing things , learning new skills, sourcing great materials and meeting brilliant people who are only too willing to help me.

Hope you find it a joy venturing into my shop.
