Planners you won't abandon by Thursday
I've lost count of the planners I've bought. The beautiful ones. The ones with
700 pages and a tracker for how much water you drank. I'd use them for a week,
feel vaguely guilty, and let them join the pile.
The problem was never the person using them. It was the planners. They're built
for brains that already run on rails, and freelancing doesn't work like that,
especially when your attention has a mind of its own. Some weeks you're buried
under three deadlines. The next you're refreshing your inbox wondering where the
work went. Your head is doing forty things, and not one of them is the invoice
you forgot to send.
So I started stripping it all back. One page to pick the single thing that
matters today. A sheet to cut a scary project into steps small enough to
actually begin. A tracker so getting paid stops being the thing you dread.
No clutter. No shame. Nothing you'll abandon by Thursday.
Everything here is made for freelancers whose focus doesn't come in a straight
line, ADHD brains especially. It's undated, so you can start on a Monday, a
Tuesday, or halfway through a chaotic afternoon. Print it, or scribble on it in
GoodNotes, and reuse it for as long as you're freelancing.
If it helps you get one real thing done and charge what you're worth, it's done
its job.
