crochet and knit items to keep you happy, warm and looking good!
the freckled purl began after i taught myself how to crochet in about 2010 and made about 80 harry potter bracelets for my daughters' friends as christmas gifts! i started out as a knitter, but i had a great desire to learn how to crochet. i am so glad i did!
i have to confess that my grandmother did try to teach me how to crochet when i was a child, but i was more interested in playing outside, riding my bike and playing sports. i did not have time to sit still and learn how to make snowflakes! i do have fond memories of her always crocheting many blankets, doilies and especially snowflakes at christmas time. i remember how they would all be laid out drying from the starch they received so that they would be stiff enough to be hung as ornaments. good memories!
i have tried to teach my daughters to crochet and knit, but alas, they are also plagued with not wanting to sit still and learn how to do it. maybe one day when they are older! they do enjoy the fruits of my labors though, especially my youngest one. she wants two of everything i make! and if it's meant for a baby, she wants it for her dolls! she and her sisters often show up as models in my shop so keep an eye out! (the photo to the right is of us, minus my eldest.)
