About

Together, We Can Make a Change

Your dog is more than your best friend. He's always there when you are having a bad day, and somehow seems to know if you need a good laugh, or a quiet snuggle. He's the best motivator to just get outdoors and exercise, even when you don't feel like it. He is unconditional love in a therapeutically furry package. He is family.

You want to give your dog the very best of everything, including accessories. I love making your dog wag, and knowing that you smile because of it. I'm Karen, and am passionate about a few things. Our youngest son has Down syndrome, and providing a place of employment for him, someday, is one of my business goals. It's like living a fairy tale, to make collars for the most amazing dog owners, while growing a place of employment for someone with a disability. Every collar purchased helps that dream grow into a solid reality.

Your support also helps to end human trafficking. Together, you and I can make a difference. A portion of each sale is given to an organization that rescues very young girls from sex trafficking. Our hearts break when we think of these children, and we are committed to doing what we can to save them. Every time you see your dog dressed in our swag, know that you are doing good in the world. I can't thank you enough for outfitting your dog with The French Dog accessories, supporting those with disabilities, and fighting human trafficking. You are our hero.

Please email me at louiethefrenchdog [!at] gmail.com if you have any questions or simply would like to say hello. I love meeting my customers, and seeing photos of your dogs.

Frequently asked questions
How many lines can I get engraved on a buckle?

You can have up to 2 lines engraved on a small size collar or harness, and up to 3 lines on larger sizes.

Please add a note in the checkout box with the engraving instructions. If you forget, no worries. We'll be in touch with you to get the details!

How wide are your collars?

Most of our collars are done on 1" wide webbing. We try to make small sizes on 3/4", but some of our patterns don't cut down well without losing the design. If you're concerned about this, please message me and we'll talk about patterns that work best.

How do I care for my swag?

Our collars, leashes and harnesses are machine washable and dryer friendly. HOWEVER, this shortens their life. Machine washing is okay, but we recommend air drying. Hand scrubbing is also an option, if you want the very best outcome.

Bow ties should always be hand washed. They're not delicate, so feel free to scrub hard, if you need to. Reshape by pinching the pleats at the center and running your hand to the end. Air dry.

Do you offer wholesale options?

Yes! We do offer wholesale options to small pet boutiques, rescue organizations or others who may want bulk accessories. We do not wholesale harnesses at this time. Please get in touch with me via email about wholesale pricing and conditions. You can reach me at Karen (@) thefrenchdogboutique.com

Do you accept returns/exchanges?

We work hard to be sure that your order is perfect. If we have made a mistake in production or have sent the wrong item, contact us, and we'll exchange or remake your item. We do not accept returns as each accessory is custom made just for your dog, based on size and style ordered.

We extensively test our designs on our own dogs, and use high quality materials. We are confident in their durability, but nothing is indestructible. Our accessories are NOT warrantied for tie-out use. Please check your dog's accessories periodically to be sure they're in good working condition, for his/her safety.

We appreciate that you chose to shop small. Your purchase helps support an individual with Down syndrome, and helps to end human trafficking.

When can I expect my order to arrive?

Our production time is 7-10 business days (excluding weekends and postal holidays). We do not keep stock on hand, but custom make each order as they come in, just for your dog. Because of the volume of orders we process on a daily basis, there is a wait time to receive your item. Everything we produce is made in the USA with much love and care, so it’s definitely worth the wait!
