About

A Chance Encounter & a Much Needed Outlet

My love of vintage paper started when I was about 14 years old after a trip to Davoll's General Store in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. I have always loved sending handwritten notes and cards so I immediately headed for the large stationery section. After browsing for awhile I noticed a box of cards and gift wrap tossed off to the side. I dug to the bottom and found three unopened packages of English made Gordon Fraser wrapping paper each with a different blue and white duck motif. Given that blue is my favorite color, these papers were something I couldn't live without. When I brought them to the register the store owner said she had no idea where they came from and hadn't remembered seeing them. When she offered them to me at a dollar a piece I immediately accepted her price. Ever since, I've been on the hunt for precious vintage pieces! Combing estate and tag sales is so interesting to me and I thoroughly enjoy the buying and selling process.

I decided to open this shop in order to share my collection and love for these beauties of days gone by. I like to celebrate the past because most paper these days just simply isn't made with the same character as it was back then!

While I use my papers for wrapping the perfect gift I am simply amazed at the ingenuity of crafters that have found other, wonderful purposes for each elegant piece.

A note about Etsy & me: I am so thankful to be part of this community. After losing my mom to cancer in 2014 and my dad to early onset Alzheimer's in 2015, running my shop enabled me to work through some of the toughest parts of my grief by keeping busy. It has allowed me to keep my mind busy by focusing on diligently filling orders and working to please my customers. At ages 65 and 66, my parents were gone too soon. Grief is a long road and you never get over your loss, your life just changes and you learn to live differently. When I become a mom in June 2015 life changed again and I'm just so overjoyed that I'll always have Etsy here to bring me work and happiness!

RESERVED ITEMS: Payment for custom and reserved listings must be made within 48 hours of my sending you the reserved listing link unless otherwise agreed prior to my reserving the item for you. After this time items will no longer be reserved and will be released for general sale.

CANCELLATIONS: I only accept order cancellations within 12 hours of original purchase. I will absolutely not accept a cancellation on any order that has already been shipped or marked as shipped regardless of how much time has lapsed from completing the purchase.

Shipping
I am generally able to ship orders within 12-36 hours of purchase but my firm policy is to ship once a week (usually on Monday) via the United States Postal Service, unless otherwise noted during holiday seasons and periodic vacation delays. It is possible that I can get to the post office more than once a week and will make every effort to do so but cannot guarantee it. Please convo me if you need a rush order.

All items are shipped with a tracking number with the exception of small cards where the shipping cost is listed as 50 cents.

I try to use recycled packaging whenever possible, which is a lot of the time. Your package might be ugly on the outside but your items should be safe!

I only ship once payment has been received and cleared. If you need to pay for shipping upgrades, all payments must be made before I ship your order. I will never ship an order before all payment for items and shipping has been received.

All items will be shipped to the address confirmed on your Etsy order receipt (not PayPal receipt) during check out. It is the responsibility of the buyer to make sure that this address is correct before placing an order. I am not responsible for items lost or misplaced due to an incorrect address.

On any order shipped via Priority mail it is the buyer's responsibility to claim any insurance damages through the USPS.

I accurately state merchandise value on all international custom forms. Please do not ask me to represent anything other than the true cost and contents.

I generally refund shipping overage charges if the calculation was off by $2 or more.
Refunds and Exchanges
ALL SALES ARE FINAL! Unless you pay for a priority mail upgrade all items are shipped via first class with no insurance. You, as the buyer, take the risk of damage and loss. I will not provide a refund for any damaged or lost items. On any order shipped via Priority mail it is the buyer's responsibility to claim any insurance damages through the USPS.
Additional policies and FAQs
I encourage you to leave a review once you've received your item. If you have any concerns about your purchase though, please do be kind and contact me before leaving anything but five stars. I'd welcome the chance to remedy the situation.

Please keep in mind that my items are vintage and mostly over 50 years old which means they are not new. Although I am particular in my acquisitions and do my best to list all flaws and notable conditions I may occasionally miss something. Do know that any misrepresentation is not intentional. If small imperfections or signs of age do not bother you, then vintage is for you. Please view all photos carefully and use the zoom feature for further inspection as I consider them to be part of an accurate description as well. While I can't guarantee the conditions of previous ownership, I can guarantee that clean and smoke-free storage is provided for all my items when they reach my home.

The shop operates under Paper Goose LLC and collects sales tax in the state of Connecticut.
