I started my love affair with the Primitive style some years back when I would absolutely fall in love with the expensive decor in those cute little Country Shops, but couldn't bring myself to pay the outrageous ticket prices.

So, I began finding more affordable solutions to help fulfill my wants. My very first Primitive handmade item was a rag ball. I tried the styrofoam cores, all fabric strips and even just wadded up fabric for centers, but still wasn't happy. Too perfect or too costly! Finally, I just crumpled up some old newspaper laying around the house and 'wallah'! The 'perfectly imperfect' look I desired.

Since then, I gained the confidence to try and conquer new crafts for my home until the epiphany came to me! I couldn't possibly be the only person with this problem...could I? The Gift Shoppe of Indiana was born.

In order to keep costs low, I try to use as much recycled and up-cycled materials as possible while still providing a quality handmade item. Most, if not all, of my shipping and packaging are also recycled to cut down on costs as well. Who wants to spend more on shipping than the item itself!?!
