All fused glass art for sale in The Glass Meltz have been designed and handmade by me, toiling away in the South West of the UK! I take inspiration from all around me, from the mix of colours in the Autumn leaves to the twinkly sparkly feeling I get deep down when I see squishy newborn babies (and know that I do not have to spend the next six months getting up to them every night...)

I use high quality compatible glass in all my designs, and 'cook' in a specialist glass kiln. A typical fusing cycle takes about twenty four hours, which initially heats the glass to a preset temperature which it then maintains for twenty minutes, then continues to heat til it reaches a temperature where the layers of glass meld into one another. The glass is then cooled slowly to ensure it does not go through 'thermal shock', which would result in cracks or stresses within the glass piece. Pieces with additional detail then require another cooking session, with more details having been carefully put in place. If the piece is going to be a plate, dish or similar item, it is then cooked once again, placed upon a prepared mould, and the heat causes the glass to 'slump' into the mould, taking up the shape.

The photos on each listing show the original item - some listings are for previously sold items which I will make up to order, but this is indicated in the description. Because of this items will take one to two weeks to be made and then posted to you. I can supply photos of the item/s you will receive prior to my posting them, if requested. This way you can see what you will be getting before you get it!

All items should be paid for within 3 days of purchase. If no payment has been made after this time and no contact made to explain a reason for the delay, I will cancel the order. If there is a reason you haven't been able to pay within this time frame, but you would like the item, please get in touch and we can work something out.

Payment must be made by Paypal. Paypal handles all your confidential payment infomation, they pass only your address on to me in order to send you your purchases. All items will be dispatched once payment has been received.

If you change your mind after having purchased an item, please let me know immediately. There is a possibility of being able to cancel the transaction, but if the item has already been shipped it will be your responsibility to bear the cost of return, at which point I will be able to refund the original cost of the item, less shipping cost.
All items are made to order unless specifically noted in the description.

I will always try and keep you informed, and will let you know once the item is on the way to you. If time is an important factor then please please please let me know at the time you place the order (or before placing it is speedy delivery is essential) and I'll do my best to help.

Due to recent increases in postage costs within the UK all items will be posted second class unless you specifically request otherwise. Royal mail indicates that while first class should arrive the next business day after posting, second class should be delivered by the third day (including Saturday).

I obtain a proof of posting for all items, which will be made available to you if necessary. If you would like your item to be sent by recorded delivery or some other alternative method, please email me so that we can discuss this. Expedited and insured postage is available, and the postage cost would increase in line with this. All packages valued above the Royal Mail limit will be sent 'signed for', so someone will need to be around to sign for them. If you have specific delivery details (such as 'if I'm not in can you ask the lady at number 22 to sign for it instead so she can bring it round when I've finished work'), please let me know and I can ensure these details are passed on to facillitate a smooth delivery.

Although I would love to post to anyone anywhere, there are certain countries where there are specific difficulties with the postal system which would impact on the delivery. If you live somewhere somewhat 'off the beaten track' please contact me prior to placing an order so I can double check the postage costs for you. Unfortunately some places where there is a high level of civil unrest I will not be able to post too. These places would certainly be in the minority however - to give you an idea, I've posted to the US, Canada, Australia, Latvia, France, Germany and Lebanon, and the only enquiry that I've had and then not been able to post to was Iraq. I am able to post to British Forces postal address, but again please enquire beforehand to make sure we're on the same page.

Please note that when a number of items have been purchased at the same time, the delivery cost will be the highest postage price, then all remaining items will be charged at the 'additional items' rate. If you have any queries about this please contact me prior to placing an order.

When payment been made using Paypal, the item purchased will be sent to the address on record. Please ensure that Paypal holds your current address, as otherwise whoever you sold your home to will be receiving your items! If you would prefer the items are delivered to an alternative address for some reason, please get in touch so we can work this out.

Please note that shipping charges include not only the cost of the postage, but also cover the cost of packaging materials (including appropriately sturdy boxes and bubble wrap), delivery to the post office and an element to cover the time this takes. If costs are lower than expected a refund for the difference will be made once the item has been dispatched. Due to the weight of glass, larger items will incur a higher shipping cost, but this is not me ripping you off - please feel free to ask for the weight of an item and other relevant details (such as size and dimensions of packing boxes) if you would like to check out postage costs yourself.

High quality recycled packing materials will be used when available, in order to minimise impact on the environment. It would be fantastic if you could try and reuse any of the packaging that you could find a purpose for. Smaller items will arrive with you in bubble envelopes, larger items in boxes graded as suitable for the postal system. As noted, packaging may well be recycled - if you prefer brand new bubble envelopes then please let me know and I will be happy to oblige.

Any and all duties and/or taxes charged are the responsibility of the purchaser.

If you live nearby (Bristol or Bristol-ish)and would prefer to come and pick up your items in person, you are more than welcome to do so. In that case, of course, no shipping cost would be payable, so just convo me before purchase and I will adjust the listing.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be completely happy with everything you purchase from me, so if you are not delighted when you receive your items, or if an item has been damaged while in transit, please contact me as soon as possible.

If you wish to return an item, please contact me within seven working days of receipt, and return the item within 14 days intact and with the original packaging. A full refund of the cost of the item will be made, but the original shipping costs cannot be refunded unless the item is faulty or is not as described. Ensuring the safe return of the item is your responsibility, as is the cost (again, unless the item is faulty or not as described).

If you have not received an item within a reasonable time frame (five days for a UK delivery, 14 days for international) please let me know so that I can look into it.

All items are handmade and shipped from the UK, and all transactions are subject to UK law.
Additional policies and FAQs
I happily accept custom orders, so if anything you see looks great, but you'd rather it was bigger or smaller; purple-er or greener; rounder or spotty-er...Just let me know! Custom orders are (obviously!) made to order, so cannot be returned.
