Announcement   Hello there! Welcome to The Gray Attic where I offer customized paper goods (invites & announcements), stationery & fine art prints.

I love taking people's favorite things and creating an entire design around them ... childhood toys, favorite trips, family heirlooms, or funky traditions. I absolutely love to use the creative talents God has blessed me with to capture the moments of this life with meaningful keepsakes. Let me create something you'll treasure.

My style—Clean, modern, elegant, quirky, whimsical—and yes, I believe that all of those things can mingle in the same place.

About

The Gray Attic

I absolutely love to use the creative talents God has blessed me with to capture the moments of this life with meaningful keepsakes. My love for celebrating the arrival of little ones began with my first custom birth announcement for my beautiful niece in 2005. Since then, I worked professionally for a publishing company, a design firm and on numerous other freelance projects. After having my own children, I developed a sweeter appreciation for a child's arrival, their birthdays and how special it was to be a parent. With the birth of my son, I poured myself into making his birth announcement uniquely special. Through that creative process I found my niche. I was on a mission to adorn precious birth details and life events with great designs on beautiful paper.

The Gray Attic is the name of my Etsy shop, where I made my first sale in August of 2011. Since then, I have mused over and designed all sorts of lovelies in my head, and then scratched them onto pieces of paper. Some of those ideas have come to life and now reside in my shop where they are ready to be enjoyed, and others are still in the works and just waiting to make their debut.

I have loved calling the shots and being able to create beautiful designs for others to enjoy. It's a blessing to do what I do, because I LOVE it and it allows me to stay at home and raise my children. I have the best job in the world. You can read a little bit more about my creative process on my shop blog.

Come back often to see what I've added.

The Gray Attic logo, shop info and copyright is printed on the back of all of our cards & prints.

Design Deposits:
Design deposits only apply to complicated alterations of a design or for a fully customized design. Color changes and customizing a layout typically do not require a design deposit, but please inquire if you are unsure. Pricing is set on a case-by-case basis as the scope of work will determine the price. Design deposits DO NOT include the printing of the cards, just for the design services. Design deposits are non-refundable and are listed as reserved listings only. This will insure that each design deposit is discussed and agreed by both The Gray Attic and the buyer prior to purchase and the beginning of the design process. I will clearly describe the future process of these specific listings.

Please inquire for more specifics on design deposits and what warrants this reserved listing.

Photography Guidelines:
Please only send the original photo from your digital camera, and be careful as many computer programs downsize the photo to make it more friendly to send electronically. If the files are large, that is usually a great indication that the image is print-quality and not just screen- quality. I will always check the resolution of the image prior to sending to print to insure the you receive the sharpest printed photo quality possible.

All photography submitted to The Gray Attic is considered approved for use to be digitally proofed in the layout and printed with the accompanying design chosen. If necessary photographers are welcome to send the digital image directly to The Gray Attic. Digital images can be sent here securely over Etsy message or they may be emailed directly to me. Email to send photos is supplied after order is received.

Earth-Friendly:
I strive to reduce, reuse and re-purpose as much as possible. I purchase paper & envelopes that use 30% or more post-consumer waste and are made in domestic paper mills. My shipping materials, when possible, are produced from recycled materials, biodegradable and/or reusable. I also do not include a packing slip, or order details print out in your package, as this is additional paper, and the same information is available online in your order details. If merchandise is separated into several packages (if envelopes are sent separately from printed cards) you will be notified electronically, or with a hand-written note.

Things I Love:
These are some of my favorite things ... brown paper packages tied up with string.

My favorite envelope is made of kraft paper. It's the perfect neutral that compliments my cards and carries my love of brown paper packages into my products. Paper or Plastic? Paper bags all the way ... I love the raw look of printed grocery store paper bags and will sometimes use them in packaging of your items prior to shipping. I like to use the vintage ribbon and lace handed down to us from my husband's side of the family. You will see pieces of materials and odds and ends from time to time delivered with your package. I love up-cycling and re-purposing and try to reflect that in what I deliver to you. So that those little scraps of ribbon and discarded bags have a purpose and don't get tossed in the trash, or lost in the bottom of a drawer or shelf somewhere.
