About TheGristleGallery

On Etsy since 2013

In a world where light switches are boring and plain...

This project started as a way to save money via homemade gifts, but since I found so many images I liked, I couldn't stop making them. And I still can't.

I enjoy sticking things on other things. Some of those things end up in this store. Maybe you'll buy some, and why not?

Thanks for visiting the Gristle Gallery!
I try to find images that no one else will think to use on a switch plate. And if it doesn't turn out beautifully, I won't list it.

I am also committed to delivering a quality finished product and providing outstanding customer service, just as I expect to receive when shopping for myself on Etsy!

Returns and exchange details
I take pride in my work, and truly want you to be happy with the end results! If you are not completely satisfied, I will gladly issue a full refund upon return of the item(s).

I only use photos of the actual current item in my listing, even when re-stocking a design that has been repeatedly made and sold several times prior. What you see is what you will get. For this reason I expect the buyer to cover return postage and I'll be happy to refund everything else.

Cancellation policy? If you contact me before I ship, I'm happy to cancel and refund the whole deal. But I *usually* package and post the current day's orders the same night, and put them in the mail the next day. So if you have a change of heart after ordering, please send me a message immediately.
Payment
I accept credit cards, debit cards and Etsy gift cards via the Etsy check-out system.

I do have a PayPal account but so far it hasn't been necessary here on Etsy. If that's your preferred option, please contact me and we'll work it out.
Shipping
I ship USPS first class with tracking and delivery confirmation within the U.S. and Canada. For faster or more secure options please contact me to make arrangements that suit your needs.

Except in rare circumstances (i.e. I'm out of town, or sick in bed with the flu) I will ship your order on the next available USPS business day -- including Saturdays -- although for late-night orders you should probably allow another day for me to see the notification (I do go to bed sometimes).

In the case of a custom order or large purchases, I will often ship with "signature required" as an extra precaution to ensure that it reaches YOU rather than being delivered to the wrong address, or stolen from your porch/mailbox. (I only make one copy of a design at a time; if lost in transit it's a bummer for both of us, given the time involved for me to make a replacement.)
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders:
I can decoupage covers for any number of toggles, as well as outlets or combinations -- provided it's a "typical" configuration available at a Home Depot. (If not, you might need to send me the blank one.)

I strongly encourage you to decide on a *specific image* prior to contacting me for custom orders. If you can send the image (high resolution recommended) or a link to find it online, your price will be the same as regular inventory listings in my store (i.e. $9 for a single switch, $15 for a double, etc.) Whereas if you only have a subject idea (i.e. "I want one with a bird on it") the cost may be higher as I'll be expending time and energy searching for images, sending you ideas for feedback, etc. before work can even start.

Finally, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery on custom orders, as I must coordinate the work with my day job. There are multiple steps involved, with drying time required in between steps and also after the finish coat before I can handle or wrap these for shipment (I learned this the hard way).
