Announcement   Hey all!! I have been an avid Etsy supporter for a hot minute and am now expanding and offering up some of my own creations as well as random vintage stuff that I probably fell in love with somewhere along the line and now I hope you do, too!! I love Etsy, I love handmade and I love the chance to offer this for others!! Check out my Word Press Blog if you gots the time - http://thehalfknittedpine.wordpress.com/

I'm also interested in barter - let me know, certain things I can always use, and some things I can't but I also have kids so start a convo and lets talk!! Christmas is coming sometime and so I can also do some gift wrapping of an item if it is to be a gift at no charge and hey, when you buy something hand made your investing in real human labor, no kidding - and thats a gift in itself.

Thanks for stopping by a taking a meander through what I have thus far, I'm a pretty utilitarian knitter, I like my stuff warm and the only way to get there is with all natural animal hair and that's what all of my stuff is made out of, no acrylics!! They pill and feel like an oil slick. Invest in wool, alpaca, llama, and invest in handmade, it'll make you feel good.

About

The Half Knitted Pine

When my husband and I bought our 200+ year old house it came with this weathered pine tree in the front yard. It was so old that the very top of it had quit going up for several years and it had decided that growing horizontal had become much more comfortable. We had a window upstairs that faced the tree directly and when the winds in the winter would pick up that tree would bend and groan. I began to see the tree as a liability. She seemed tired and just wanted to come down. So I called a local tree guy and he agreed to come out and cut her down. When he got half way done with the tree a guy pulled up and said to leave the last section so that they could have it for a tree carving event at the fair. He never did come back to get the rest and here she is still in the yard, only she's barely half of what she was. I like that she's so weathered and that such clear evidence of her is still in the front yard. I'm sure it drives my neighbors crazy at times - and mowing around her is a hassle, but still, I like the half pine in the yard, it has character.

Mom of three wife of a survivalist all star I'm down with homesteading, gardening, farming, knitting, sewing, and great books and conversation. Handmade is important to me and I incorporate it as much as possible. I have always had one half of me in an artists studio in my mind and the other half is usually trying to deal with the real world. I started college for fine arts but finished with english and writing.
