Urban Farm, green gals and a dream
We always wanted to work for ourselves. Despite our very contorted paths, we were always working towards this goal. To own land, grow natural products (food, herbs, honey, chickens) and yet still be near (or in) the hub and cultural diversity and excitement of the big city. Maria started buying land when she was 27 and piecing together what would be Healcrest Urban Farm. Dana pursued her education in sustainable systems. Maria got her herbal certification and starting learning the art of organic gardening, Dana began managing locally-grown and produced items in various setting. In 2011 they joined forces to make Healcrest Urban Farm not only a beautifully sustainable piece of urban (once vacant) land but create a small & sustainable business sharing herbal tea and natural foods produced by urban growers - to Pittsburgh, East Coast and hopefully most of the US one day!
Together we bring years of study in natural health, sustainable growing and buying systems and pursuit of well produced products for the consumer.
