Modern Baby Textiles Handmade With Heart ♥
As soon as I was old enough to see over the top of the quilt frame, my Nanny handed me a needle and thread to start learning to quilt. She had a machine she used to make clothes, but she harped on quilting "the right way," which meant doing everything by hand. The Hen Pen is all thanks to her and the lessons I learned from her and her quilting friends that my Papa swore he could hear "clucking and cackling" from across the yard when they'd get together every Tuesday.
Years passed, and now three boys and a husband later, I have an entire upstairs to myself and get to live my dream of taking care of my family during the daylight and then creating into the wee hours of the night. My quilts and baby goods nowadays are still made using traditional techniques but with the help of a sewing machine to insure each one will last for decades to come.
My shop has been such a blessing and the customers I've "met" over the years, many have become friends. Every single item that leaves my studio is one that you can count on being made with much love and an attention to detail. I love sharing my gift with you, and look forward to being a part of your most important life moments with the beauties I create.

Care instructions
All items should be washed with like colors on gentle or low cycle in cold water. Tumble dry low.
Quilts will always last longer if line dried as much as possible. Additional details on caring for your quilt are in the photos on each listing.
Are your items ready to ship?
95% of my shop's items do ship within 48 hours. If you select an item that is not ready to ship, the turnaround time is listed under the Shipping Info on each listing.
I want a size quilt that isn't currently available in your shop. When will you have larger size quilts available again?
Etsy limits me to 10 weeks on shipping out items, including my quilts which are made-to-order, and I'm often booked out further than that timeframe with those larger sizes. If you'll signup for my email list at www.thehenpen.com/signup, you'll be the first to know when I have openings available for these larger sizes.
Sizing details
Nursing Pillow Covers are made to fit most name brand U-shaped nursing pillows.
Crib Sheets fit standard crib mattresses 27"x 52" and 4" deep.
Changing Pad Covers fits most standard 32"x 16"x 4" contoured changing pads.
All quilt size details are listed in their description.
Can you monogram or personalize my item?
I do not offer monogramming at this time.
Gift wrapping and packaging
All items are packaged in tissue paper and neutral washi tape prior to shipment. I aim to make every customer feel like they are opening a present with every package from my shop. :) If you'd like me to also include a gift note for your recipient, please leave me a note when you checkout or convo me.
