Thanks,

Q1. How did The Homespun Market get to be?
** I have always loved being creative and artistic, so it seemed kinda inevitable that one day I would turn my hobby into something more.
Conditions that lead to today?
** One day while I was making pasta for my kids my daughter was in the kitchen with me playing with her plastic play food and asked me if she could make pasta too. That night when the kids were sleeping I grabbed a bunch of felt I had laying around and started drawing up patterns and sewing a pasta play set. The next morning I gave it to her to play with and it was a hit! She and her sisters played kitchen for hours. As I was watching them I started developing more and more ideas of play foods that I could create for them. My friends and family really encouraged me to sell my items, so I took the leap.

Q2. What propels the creative process?
** Whether I'm at a grocery store or a park, I always have my eyes and ears open to create things that will keep my kids happy and entertained. They are my idea people and product testers.

Q3. What inspires my designs?
**I am inspired to create items for not only the child but the adult as well. From the concept, to the product detailing, down to the packaging, I want my items to be enjoyed by everyone. I personally love creative packaging and I love adding those unique and realistic details to my products. Such as using a carry out tin for the pasta play set. I also gift wrap everything because who doesn't love unwrapping something! Specifically though without sounding cliche, all my inspiration comes from my children. My favorite item I've created is the campfire play set, and that was all inspired by my oldest daughters first sleepover party. It was a double bonus that it acted as a clever way to hide a nightlight.

Q4. Why children's toy/home goods?
** As a mom to 4 young kids my life revolves around children right now. I personally enjoy a certain ascetic and I love the challenge of creating something for kids that the adult would also love in there home. I also like creating rarely seen healthy choice foods for children to create meals with such as a salad.

Q5. Hopes for little ones who play with my items?
** Wow. I love the idea of kids using there imagination and having good old fashioned fun. It is such a joy to see my kids light up when I come to them with a new toy to test out. The idea that even 1 kid other than my own enjoys something I created is just surreal!

Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to clean felt toys?

Due to the nature of Eco- felt fabric I recommend using spot cleaning methods with a small dab of mild detergent. Eco-felt although very strong and durable for child's play, will start pilling when wet.
