The Inky Deer

I'm Daisy, a watercolour artist and illustrator based in the Nottinghamshire countryside, in England.
I have had a passion for drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, and would sit for hours doodling away.
Now I usually focus on watercolour paintings, and take inspiration from traditional botanical artwork, ink drawings and woodland creatures.
My shop name ‘The Inky Deer’, is based on a piece I did back in 2012. When I created a large piece featuring a deer in ink. As deer are one of my absolute favourite animals, and as a way of offering my artwork to wider audience online, I then came up with idea of setting up 'The Inky Deer' inspired by this.

I love combining traditional and abstract elements, and I really admire the old botanical lithographs and ink drawings of wildlife and flowers. Whether flowers, foxes, deer or birds, most of my work involves watercolours and ink to create intricate works, but with a contemporary twist. By combining soft watercolour washes with inky illustrations, I intend to capture the viewers imagination and convey a whimsical feel.
All my prints are scanned and edited by myself, and then printed onto high quality archival paper.

Additional policies and FAQs
Please note - The colours you see here may be slightly different from the actual artwork in person. Slight variation in colour is due to different computer monitor display settings.

Prints are archival and colours should remain vivid for many years, if kept behind a glass frame away from direct sunlight, to protect against UV damage.

I really care about protecting the environment, so all papers used for my art prints are made from sustainably sourced pulps, so our forests aren't harmed. I also try and use packaging that can be recycled / composted where possible.
