Announcement   Welcome! This shop is a father-daughter collaboration. I favor whimsical, abstract styles that serve as conversation starters. My dad makes most of the beautiful fold-formed cuff bracelets and does some of the lapidary work and stone hunting. We have a good time making things together and are happy when others can enjoy them.
We welcome custom work, so if you see something here that is almost but not quite what you want, we can work with you to create a piece you'll love.

I sell at the Florida Society of Goldsmiths Northeast in DeLand, FL on some Friday nights- if you're local and would like to pick up in person send me a conversation.

If you'd like to see more of my jewelry visit www.jillianlogue.com

About

Father-Daughter Collaboration Extraordinaire!

I started this shop to encourage my Dad in his pursuit of jewelry making and metalsmithing. I love his jewelry, and I couldn't stand to see it all hiding away in his shop. He's a retired photographer and a Purple Heart Vietnam veteran. He dove into metalsmithing in his retirement. I started learning as a way to spend time with him and quickly fell in love with metal arts. He makes the fold formed cuffs, and I make the rest.

I recently moved back to Florida after living in New York City post-college for 5 years, where I was managing a busy cafe and exploring the city. The slower pace of life leaves more time for art-making, gardening, and dreaming. I returned after falling in love with my childhood friend. Since we were both introverted, quiet kids, it took writing letters from a distance for us to realize how much we loved each other. He's a computer programmer and a caregiver for his grandma with Alzheimer's. It's also wonderful to live close to my family again.

My dad and I are always learning new techniques and love experimenting and trying different things, so expect new and different items to be listed with time.

We'd love to make a custom order for you, so feel free to send a message.

This is my dad! He's 69, and a retired photographer and purple heart Vietnam veteran. He's a super funny and cheerful guy, and the best dad ever, I think. He makes most of the beautiful cuffs we have available at our shop.

Shipping
I ship first class USPS with tracking for most packages, unless the listing specifies priority mail. If you are shipping to the US and would like to upgrade to priority shipping (2-3 days) please send me a message (before or immediately after you purchase the item. International orders are sent first-class mail without tracking.

If you'd like your order shipped directly to someone with a personalized note, or gift wrapped for a special recipient (a child, someone with a favorite color obsession, or someone who is super green and would be slightly offended by bubble wrap, for example) please let me know- I have lots of different materials and will do my best to make it happen.

I generally charge less for shipping than the actual cost in the US.

International buyers- due to a range of shipping prices to different countries, the shipping cost listed may be higher or lower than my actual cost- if it is lower, I will refund you the difference to be fair if the difference exceeds $1.

Please note that international customers are responsible for all customs duties and taxes. I will not mark your item as a gift to evade customs taxes.
Refunds and Exchanges
If for any reason you aren't satisfied with your purchase, please contact me. I'd be happy to refund your purchase within 30 days after you receive your items, and may make exceptions for holiday gift recipients within a reasonable time frame. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please send me a message! My goal is to give you a positive experience!
Additional policies and FAQs
Packaging:
Gift wrapped jewelry is usually shipped in a recycled paper jewelry box (lately it has been a seafoam green/blue color, and white for larger cuff bracelets) with colored tissue, handmade or art paper backing and satin ribbon, raffia, or colorful yarn fibers. I include a shop business card and a card with a handwritten description of the materials (sterling silver, handmade by ___) I generally wrap depending on the aesthetic of the item. If you have a certain aesthetic or color scheme you'd like for your gift wrapping send me a message and I'll do my best to accommodate your request.

Standard packaging orders are either packed in a box similar to gift wrap but without the extra gift wrap pizzaz or in a small zip bag on a card with bubble wrap and tissue. This can keep shipping costs lower for international orders.

ALL ABOUT CUFF BRACELETS:

How to put on a cuff bracelet:

The correct way to put on a cuff bracelet is to press the end of it firmly between the two bones on your forearm near your wrist and roll it on. You can enter "how to put on a cuff bracelet" in a search engine and there will be dozens of demonstration pictures and videos. Many people wear out their bracelets by forcing them open and closed, which makes the metal hard and brittle and a funny shaped bracelet over time.

Getting the right fit:

The easiest way to see if a cuff will fit you is to cut out a strip of paper the same length as the wearing size of the cuff and hold it around your wrist. Some cuffs are a round shape, and some are an oval shape, and I have listed the diameter for most of the oval bracelets (the bigger number is the width).

Resizing cuff bracelets:

For cuff bracelets and jewelry that can be re-sized, I will happily resize for you free of charge. If you'd like to have your cuff re-sized prior to shipping, please let me know your wrist size, including the circumference and width and height of your wrist. I'd be happy to re-size or re-finish your bracelet at any time after purchase as well- You will be responsible for the return shipping.

If you're interested in a large bracelet but have a small wrist, you can send a message via etsy conversation- depending on the design, I can trim the bracelet and re-polish it, but the time frame for completion will vary depending on the finish of the bracelet and the hours our community studio is open to use the polishing machine. Resizing by cutting the metal down will change the finish slightly, as it will expose raw copper where it is cut and polished. Of course, it will still be beautiful, just slightly different.

Resizing at home:

For bracelets without a lot of very structured folds, you will be able to squeeze the opening gap larger or smaller to adjust the size. This might take a little bit of muscle. Note that the more you work and stress metal, the harder it gets, so don't plan on prying it open more than once or twice unless you have access to a handheld torch to anneal the metal (make it soft again). Round things like chair legs, baseball bats, and doorknobs are things that resemble bracelet mandrels if you're trying to DIY and reshape it at home. I use a leather mallet and a bracelet mandrel to re-size.

Cleaning and Care:

Most copper jewelry is sent to you with an initial coat of jeweler's wax (renaissance wax brand) to protect the metal from oxidation and tarnish, but it will wear off eventually and you may choose to reapply wax or varnish. Some people prefer the oxidized look and will simply allow the metal to darken and become more colorful. If you are looking for a raw copper bracelet to benefit from the medicinal properties, I can remove the wax coating, though this may change the finish on the bracelet slightly since it requires heating and polishing. I'll do my best to get the finish back to the way it is in the photographs, but it may be slightly different, especially if the copper is speckled.

There are many resources available online with instructions on how to care for and store metal jewelry. I recommend washing with gentle dish soap and water, and doing this regularly will also prevent the copper from turning skin green. I wear a copper bracelet and clean it daily in the shower and it has never turned my skin green. Usually jewelry that is worn close against the skin will cause the discoloration, but cuffs allow airflow and if they are cleaned every day will not cause this problem.

For the bright, raw-colored copper bracelets, steel wool or fine emery or sandpaper paper will do the trick. Also storing jewelry in an airtight container while you aren't wearing it will prevent oxidation. You might even consider buying an anti- tarnish jewelry box, as certain materials used in manufactured storage containers will contribute to tarnish.
