Hopping on The Lillie Pad

Hi! I'm Amanda, the owner, designer, and maker here at The Lillie Pad. The Lillie Pad is a great place to find gift ideas for the ladies, babies, and toddlers in your life.
But enough about that. Let me take a moment to share with you a little about myself and how I stepped into the crafting world.
Many years ago I began knitting with some college friends. I enjoyed to knit, yet I did not have the patience it required to complete large and detailed projects. In 2010, while visiting Spain with my husband, a missionary taught me how to crochet. Crochet had always baffled me, but I had always been drawn to the beautiful stitch work that could be created with crochet.

I came back from Spain with a better understanding of crochet, so I dropped my knitting needles and picked up a set of crochet hooks and took off! What was once a struggle with knitting needles, seemed to flow effortlessly with a crochet hook. After a few weeks of work I showed my granny some of my ear warmer projects. She quietly smiled and left the room and soon returned with a mason jar full of crochet hooks. But these were not just any crochet hooks. They were hooks which had once been used by my great-grandmother and my grandfather. My great-grandmother was well known for her amazing crochet works with fine thread. In fact, my great-grandmother's son, my grandfather, was also an amazing crochet. As an only child, he grew up spending many hours learning to crochet from his mother.
Ok, so enough about my family history. Let's return to my granny and the hooks. So my granny handed me the jar of hooks and told me to keep making "pretty things" with them. And to this day every time I visit my granny she asks about all the new "pretty things" I have been creating.

Those crochet hooks are among my dearest possessions, connecting me to my past and reminding me to carry on hand crafts and traditions of my ancestors. Crochet is in my blood. And when I work with my special vintage hooks I feel most at ease and at peace. That is why I crochet.

In recent years I have also begun crafting with vinyl, making unique personalized gifts such as custom glass soap dispensers, and original t-shirt designs for babies and toddlers. Through it I have found a surprising love for graphic design!

Payment
Custom Made Items: Customers are asked to please submit payment through Paypal or credit card first before I begin work on your custom item. Payment cancellations on custom items will only be allowed if I (the seller) am unable to complete your order within the agreed-upon timeline in your custom order and you no longer wish to have the item made for you.

Ready-Made Items: Please send payment through PayPal or Credit Card at time of purchase. Cancellations can be made before shipment. Any cancellations made after item is shipped will be considered a "Return" (see Refund policy).
Shipping
Communication is the most important thing to me! Please contact me, and I will do my best to meet your needs and answer your questions. You can refer to the following shipping policies for my store:

PROCESSING TIME BEFORE SHIPMENT
Current processing times are stated clearly in each item's description. Once you purchase an item a "ship by" date will be listed on your invoice reflecting that processing time, indicating the latest possible date that your item will ship out from me. It does not include shipping (delivery) time.

SHIPPING ADDRESS
-Buyer is responsible for making sure that the shipping address is correct at time of purchase. Shipping labels are generated automatically from the information entered in by the buyer and is not altered by the seller. Therefore the customer assumes responsibility for the accuracy of the shipping address.

LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED PACKAGES
-If it looks as if your package might have been lost in transit please contact me. Please know that the USPS may take up to 30 days to deliver first class mail.
-Buyer is responsible for having a secure area for the package to be delivered. Items that are lost or stolen after being marked "delivered" are the responsibility of the buyer.
-If an item is lost or stolen I am more than happy to assist the buyer any way I can with filing a claim or communicating with authorities as within my power.
-If an item is returned to me by the post office as undeliverable for any reason I can resend it to the buyer, but the buyer must re-purchase the necessary postage. Otherwise no refunds will be offered after a delivery failure as a result of an inaccurate address.
-If an item is damaged upon arrival, whether by faulty design or by rough transit please contact me immediately. Depending on the situation I will work with you to either replace, fix, exchange, or return the item, or I will help with filing a claim with the postal service.

MAILING OPTIONS:
--Standard Shipping is sent via USPS First Class (3-5 days) and First Class International Mail (10-45 days). I have found both to be very reliable, but shipping times are not "guaranteed" by the USPS. All orders, including international, will be provided with tracking numbers that will be emailed to you when the item ships.
--Priority Mail (1-3 days Domestic, varies International) is also available. Priority mail shipping time is also not "guaranteed" by the USPS.
--Priority Express Mail (1-2 days Domestic, varies International) is also available. This service is guaranteed by the USPS for delivery in 1-2 days or your postage price back.
--The Lillie Pad is not responsible for late delivery of packages. Once I ship your order on time as promised according to the ship-by date stated on your invoice, and it is in the possession of the postal service I no longer have any control over the delivery time of your order. If you purchase Priority Express shipping and it does not arrive in 2 days after being shipped out you are entitled to a full refund of the shipping charges. Please let me know if that is the case and I can file a claim for the postage refund for you.
--International tracking numbers and customs form numbers may only be limited to tracking a package within the US. Some countries do not continue to use the original tracking number upon arrival in the destination country. If you prefer door-to-door tracking please contact me prior to purchase and I will inform you of your shipping options.

INSURANCE & SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION
-All first class/standard packages are shipped without insurance. Message me prior to purchase if you would like to add insurance for an additional fee.
-All Priority and Priority Express shipments are shipped with insurance.
-I offer signature confirmation on US domestic purchases by request only. Please contact me prior to purchase to add signature confirmation. Additional fees apply.

REMINDER TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS (ESPECIALLY IN THE UK)
--The Lillie Pad and the United States Postal Service is not responsible for packages that are held over or delayed in Customs.
--Please be advised that you, the buyer, are responsible for any VAT/import/duty taxes or fees that may be levied upon package's arrival. Please be aware of these charges for your individual country prior to purchase. Check your country's postal website for rules before purchase or use this duty calculator to estimate charges: http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/
Your postal service could hold your package for VAT charges and will not release the package to you until you pay this charge, so it is important to be aware of these fees/charges ahead of time.

CANADA POST LABOR DISPUTE DELAYS
Due to an ongoing labour dispute, Canada Post has informed that it may halt acceptance of new shipments and delivery of mail and parcels beginning on July 2nd. All shipments to Canada that are handled by Canada Post will be affected. Until the labor dispute is resolved and Canada Post resume normal delivery I will not be able to take orders from Canadian customers. So sorry for the inconvenience
Refunds and Exchanges
Please know that I strive to have a store policy that is fair and equitable to both buyer and seller.

Returns/Exchanges on ready-made (non-custom) items are accepted within 30 days of the date of payment for the item(s). Please contact me to let me know you wish to return an item. Buyer pays the return shipping. Once the returned item has arrived back to me by mail, you will be refunded the purchase price, minus the original shipping charges.

Refunds of digital patterns: Please contact me if you have a problem with your pattern. Since the pattern is a digital file I cannot offer refunds on it except in very special cases (i.e. duplicate order). Sorry, no refunds on digital pattern purchases if any of the files have been marked as downloaded by the buyer. Please contact me if you are having problems accessing or opening it. I will be glad to assist!

Returns/Exchanges on Custom Orders: Sorry, no returns on custom orders, especially on items that are personalized with names or monograms or are made to a special size. Please be sure that you ask any necessary questions about your custom order before purchase to ensure that you and I are clear on the details of your order. For some items in my shop I may be able to offer an exchange for your item (Buyer pays return shipping).

EU Right of Withdrawl: Buyers residing in EU countries that are subject to the Right of Withdrawl regulations have the right to return an item within 14 days of receiving the item. This right does not extend to custom-made items nor digital content items in my shop. To initiate the Right of Withdrawl on an applicable item purchased from my shop buyers must contact me directly within the 14 day period after arrival and I will provide a withdrawal/cancellation form to include with the return. The buyer is responsible for paying all return shipping costs. I reserve the right to withhold refunds until the item is returned to me.

Return to Sender: Any domestic or international packages (except for those in applicable Right of Withdrawl countries in the EU) marked "refused," "return to sender", "not called for", "undeliverable" etc. by the buyer or postal service upon arrival and are sent back to me (opened or unopened) without prior notification from the buyer are not eligible for a shipping refund, and may or may not be subject to a full or partial refund of the item unless previously agreed upon between myself and the buyer prior to the return. If an item is returned as "undeliverable" I can re-send the package by request. See Shipping Policies for more info.

Items that are lost, stolen, or damaged: Please let me know if your item was lost or damaged in transit or upon delivery. Please see the shipping policies in my shop for more details about these issues.

I stand behind my work 100%. If you are not happy with your order for any reason please let me know immediately and I will work with you fairly to resolve any issues. I value my customers and I place customer service as a high priority in my shop.

Office Hours
Although The Lillie Pad is always open for business, there are times each week that I am more accessible to you, my customers, to answer questions. In general I am able to respond to messages quicker during these times:
M,W,F 10:00 am to 3:30 pm EST
T, TH 1:30 pm to 5 pm EST
Saturday: Not frequently available, but may respond to some questions if I can.
Sunday: Not available.
Please feel free to message me anytime. I try to respond to messages as soon as I possibly can and at least within 24 hours (except on Sundays), even during my busy season. Thank you for your understanding!

Gift wrapping and packaging

All items are packaged neatly and most items are wrapped in pretty, colorful tissue as well before shipment. I am also willing to add a note to recipient to any package. I can do additional gift-wrapping on any item by request. Additional fees may be required depending on the situation.

Custom and personalized orders

I accept custom and personalized orders on almost every item in my shop, including things I've never made before! Please contact me if you would like to inquire about having something made especially for you!

When will my purchase be ready to ship?

The processing time (the time it takes to make your order before it is ready to ship) for each item in my shop is clearly listed in each item's listing details. After purchase a "ship-by" date can be found on your invoice at www.etsy.com/your/purchases. That date indicates the latest possible date your order will be ready to ship unless we have personally discussed otherwise.

Wholesale availability

I am available to do wholesale orders on a limited number of items in my shop. Please contact me with questions about wholesale.

Care instructions

For crochet items: Put items in a delicates bag if possible. Wash on cold, delicate cycle, with like colors. Lay flat or hang dry.

For heat transfer vinyl items (tees, towels, etc): Items are machine washable and dry-able. To ensure longer wear I recommend washing inside-out if applicable, with like colors, and hang or lay flat to dry. Iron on medium to hot on the reverse side of the image. Do not overstretch the fabric of item as it may damage image.

For glass, plastics, and ceramic items: Hand wash only. Not microwave, oven, dishwasher safe, or food-safe.
