Amazing craftsmanship! The set is gorgeous and perfect. My husband loved that it was made out of cocobolo...perfection!
One of a kind treasures, created from my heart and loved by yours
Founded in late October, 2011, The Loose Nut Woodshop has been a place for me to express myself with wood, as well as a relaxing, if not infuriating, experience. How can something be both relaxing and infuriating, you ask? Simple. That moment when a beautiful pen is nearing completion, only to have the slightest catch of the cutting tool shatter the wood and suddenly all the time spent working on it is lost.
Admittedly, this has happened far more frequently then I care to admit, but every mistake is just a way of learning how not to do something.
I've been working with wood since just after I was old enough to hold and swing a hammer without hurting myself or someone else. In the earliest days, I thought it was so cool that with some nails and a few boards, you could make a rudimentary box. I even think I may have made a holder for my NES gun at one point so I could have it nearby my tv at all times. You never knew when those ducks would take off, after all.
Time, as it often does, marched on and as I aged, my passion for woodworking grew. I began making more and more complicated items, ranging from side tables to computer desks and entertainment centers. When my wife and I got our first apartment, I decided that I wanted to build all the furniture for it, and my wife gave me the permission to do so. I don't know if she knew then what she had gotten into, but within a couple of weeks we had an entire living room set, a bedroom set, and most of a dining set.
We still use it all to this day, even after all this time we both still love the look of it.
The Loose Nut Woodshop then grew out of a desire to continue creating and working with wood in such a way that others could enjoy my work as well. My wife finally convinced me to open up shop, and I have grown in this first year of operation beyond what I initially expected. I love being able to provide a unique gift for you, and knowing that it is appreciated.
Now that my daughter has been born, I cannot wait until she is old enough that I can start making her all the wonderful gifts out of wood that someday, she can pass on to her children. It is this longevity, this sentimental value, that I hope I can impart into all of my work, and that I hope will draw you to it as well.

Frequently asked questions
Is the item I receive the one that is pictured?
Yes, everything I make in the shop is one of a kind. The pictures for any given listed are taken from the exact product you will receive. I do not list any item that I do not currently have completed, so you can rest assured that what you see is what you get.
I really like *Insert item here* a lot. Is there any way I can get one (or two or 20) just like it?
I will do my best to recreate the item in question. However, as every item is unique and made by hand, there is likely to be some variation from piece to piece. This is especially true with some of the more highly figured woods where two pieces cut from the same tree could potentially be wildly different looking. I am more than happy to recreate a piece for you, but just understand that these are not churned off a manufacturing line or CNC lathe, so they will not be exact copies of one another.
