I tried unscented goat milk soap from 3 sellers on Etsy. Merry Goat was the best. It's not fancy. It doesn't have multicolored swirls in it. It's the real thing - truly homemade from all natural ingredients. This is my 3rd order and the soap is always consistent. It's very gentle on sensitive skin. Ann is a great seller - she makes a quality product, stays in touch about the order, packs the soap carefully and ships quickly. Ann has always included a mini- soap bar which is the most generous sample I've received from any seller. It's almost half the size of a full bar!

Very glad I tried this soap. It's gentle, lathers well and has been very helpful in healing severe eczema on my hands. I love that it has limited, natural ingredients. Though unscented, the soap has a very mild, pleasant scent from the ingredients. Ann, the seller, wasn't immediately notified of my order but once she was, shipped promptly. She more than made up for the short delay by including 2 goodies -another full size soap bar and a terrific, silky smooth chamomile lip balm. Ann also kept in touch to make sure the order arrived. Great customer service and products!
It All Started With "Ruby" - A Different Type Of Gem
In 1999 a beautiful, loving Boer goat named Ruby came into my life. Ruby was an "only goat", her one companion being my sweet dog, Daphne, so I'm not quite sure she was aware that she wasn't a dog too. Ruby had a desire to be present and involved in everything I did and so spurred my love for goats and their fun, adventurous personalities. 17 years later I still raise goats and have found dairy goats, in particular to be a favorite. Each has their own personality, as unique and enjoyable as any person I've known. In 2011, with an excess of milk, I began using some of it to produce our own soap on our homestead and was surprised to find that it relieved my Rosacea unlike any other product, even those made specifically for sensitive skin. We gave lots of it away as gifts and when our local farmer's market manager asked if I would be willing to sell at the market, The Merry Goat Soap Company began its birth. At first we called it soap from The Old Way Homestead as I was already making and selling herbal salves and dried herbs from our farm, but we quickly determined from its popularity that the soap needed an identity of its own. Luckily, an art teacher friend of mine was game for drawing a picture of one of my girls in exchange for a few bars of soap. I mailed her a picture of our goat "Smudge" (named by my son after a mischievous lamb in a favorite story) and she began work on what would become our logo. With just a little brainstorming, "Smudge" found her way into a wash tub full of bubbles, merrily holding a bar of soap, complete with the smile she always wears. She was perfect and it was a perfect representation of her personality. The soap created from Smudge's milk is made the old fashioned way, meaning it's cooked to ensure all the lye is consumed by the oils. The result is a silky smooth, creamy bar of soap which is gentle enough for most sensitive skin types and conditions. Because it is cooked, the bars have a distinct, rustic appearance and are made with simple, all natural ingredients with no chemical additives. The raw goat’s milk lends a moisturizing effect and also gives the bar its natural color. Both Smudge and our other girl, Stella, are hand-milked in order to keep the process as natural and loving as possible. They know milking time means lots of yummy treats and attention, so we often have a rush to see who can run to the gate to be the first in line! I hope you enjoy our products and find them as wonderfully soothing as we do!
