5 out of 5 starsI love this mug and shop! I got it as a gift for my sister’s birthday and asked the owner if it would come in on time (her birthday is next week) and I was assured that if all went well in shipping I would, so I made the purchase. They shipped almost immediately and the mug is just what I wanted! Got it in a week early. Great shop and very helpful owner.

The Story Behind Midwest Belle
If you would have told me when I was in high school that in my 20’s, I would be the owner of a clothing company, I never would have believed you! I always thought I would be an elementary school teacher, a photographer, or a nurse. After high school, my middle school sweetheart (yes, we started dating on our 8th grade field trip!) and I moved from our small town to the city where I started schooling to be a teacher. I knew that teaching wasn’t going to be my passion so I decided to become a nurse. By this point, we had gotten married, spent a few years away from home, and knew that as we were getting ready to start a family, it was time to return to our roots.
When we moved back to our small town, I decided to become a nurse at the community college in my hometown. Shortly after starting classes, we found out we were expecting our son! He was born a few weeks after I passed my nursing boards and I knew right away that staying home with him was where I was meant to be.
Shortly after Lincoln was born, I found myself feeling frustrated every morning with my clothing. I didn’t want to wear sweats and old high school t-shirts but I also didn’t want to wear my “nice” clothes. Anyone that has been around children knows they are messy! I needed something that was comfortable, easy to wash, affordable, and most importantly, made me feel confident. I kept looking for clothing that met all four of those requirements, but couldn’t find quite what I was looking for. If I was looking for these things, than many other women must be looking for the same thing. It was time to take a huge leap of faith and create them myself.
As you read above, I am not an artist, I have no formal education with graphic design, marketing, fashion, business, etc., and computer skills don’t come naturally to me (cue the hubby to help me figure that part out :D) I think that is what makes my creations stand out among the rest. I imagine every product that comes from my shop and I work darn hard to make sure you are getting something you love. I also firmly believe this is what brings us together. My clothing is meant to bring happiness, inspiration, and some Midwest roots into your life.
