Felting is one of those things that burrows into you and inspires creativity.

I started felting about 20 years ago. Back then it was all about the wet felting. I felted gnomes and balls and a couple tapestries but wet felting didn't let me get much detail in there, though the form is lovely. Then about 16 years ago I found needle felting. That's when things really began to change.

I had an Etsy shop that was started before The MoonGoat ( It was dedicated to Waldorf dolls and simpler Waldorf art. So, when I started going really crazy with the needle felting, I realized that my new work didn't quite match up with the theme of my first shop. That's when The MoonGoat was born.

With four children and, now, a homestead, felting allows me to get completely crazy with my ideas and inspirations and still be able to put it down and do those other important tasks in life. With animals and children, one must be able to drop and go. Though I may want to keep going forever (and believe me there have been pieces that made me want to go forever) there are times when you must stop and get on with other things. Felting allows for that and I am always grateful that we happened upon each other. It is such a diverse medium allowing for both sculpture and flat work so whatever I happen to be itching to make, can be made from it which is quite exciting.

I encourage everyone to give it a try. It may surprise you and best of all- you may surprise yourself.

I'm a mother of four & have always believed that art is more important than people imagine. I spend a lot of time felting like a fiend & cuddling my children. But a life without felting never feels quite the same as one with it....

Additional policies and FAQs
When something is listed as "UNAVAILABLE" it can be confusing. Basically what this means is that a local store has requested to carry the item on commission and so I don't want to "double sell" it so I list it as unavailable. If you are interested in an "UNAVAILABLE" item, just convo me and I can contact the store that is carrying it and see whether it is still there. If it is, I will run over, pick it up and edit the listing to show that is is RESERVED and I will send a convo notifying you that you can now purchase the item.
Thank you and you can always convo with questions.
