I have always been fascinated by old, unique things.

When I was a kid, whenever the family went anywhere, we stopped by local historical sites. My father, an amateur genealogist and family historian, always made sure we stopped by cemeteries and locations of battles or history; my mother always made sure we ducked into strange or out of the way antique shops, filled with dusty furniture and the occasional bizarre curio.

This was mind-numbingly boring, of course. So I would make it a habit to find the strangest thing in the place, or the weirdest spot. I distinctly remember once stumbling upon a tin of mixed Garbage Pail Kids, and a collection of Victorian photography of the dead. It was strange, but mostly...it was INTERESTING.

My wife and I run an old used bookstore now, and I have frequently gotten ahold of large collections of old, water damaged, or crumbling comic books. Some we put on the shelves, for a fun, cheap, responsibility-free read and a blast of nostalgia. The worst, I held onto; I didn't feel right throwing them away, but they were no longer usable.

So, now, I'm making things out of them, as well as trading cards, tarot cards, posters, book covers...anything that is no longer usable in its original form, I'm trying to make into something interesting that can be worn. Most of the things I will be making are one-off; while I could, theoretically, track down the specific issue of a secondary comic brand from the early to mid eighties, and find the same advertisement I clipped out an image from...I'm not going to.

A few things, like those based on cards or posters, can be replicated a little bit more easily. I'll gladly do it, if you have something in particular you would like. Just send me a message, and I'll see what I can dig up!
