What a wonderful detailed piece of art. I built a sweet display around it, which gives me a chance to put many favorites together and speaks to why I began collecting only about 9 months ago. A good decision! I'm very grateful for a knowledgeable dealer like Patricia whose shop even offered Zatzka, along with her always worthwhile descriptions...they make a difference to me. Love my purchase.

As Patricia mentioned, this postcard shows a rather unusual view of Venice, thank you so much for making it possible for us to have this in our collection, we really appreciate it!

What a cute couple! A very domestic image indeed, rather unique take on the Valentine's day. It is great to check the OldBarnDoor for these finds, always a wonderful selection.

Beautiful antique Venetian view, this picture takes me back to that wonderful place. How different it looks without all the tourists! Nice addition to our collection, thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous engraving, this pairs up nicely with the other engraving, two sweet scenes that takes us back to a different time and stir up cherished memories.

Chicks and umbrellas! What more could we want? But Patricia went beyond and created a lovely backstory for this pair of postcards, it definitely added to their charm.

About

Like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz

You know that great line from the end of The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy looks up at her friends and family and says something to the effect about “looking for her heart’s desire she wouldn’t look any further than her own backyard.” Well, my life is sort of like that…except I discovered I didn’t have the right backyard. So, after a 25+ year high pressure career, my husband and I chucked it all, sold the house in the big city and bought the farm…really…we bought a farm.

I shared a love of stamp collecting with my father. We could often be found pouring over scraps of paper leafing through catalogues and I’m sure to the uninitiated we must have looked like spies plotting our next great adventure. When he passed away it fell to me (means my sisters dump this on me) to dispose of Dad’s large collection of stamps, covers postcards etc.

I quickly found that it rekindled my interest in geography and history, two classes I should clearly have attended more often in high school. I have acquired some postcards of my own along the way and this is how I came to Etsy to share these beautiful vintage cards with others.

Vintage holiday cards are often like little works of art and the town pictures capture our history in a most interesting way. I also have misc paper ephemera in my shop from old books that are past use. And, I am now sharing my view on the world thru my photography, mostly my backyard but that really is my world.

I believe in animal rescue, laughing often and loudly, eating local and healthy, following your heart and making your dreams a reality.

I am a full-time farmer so please be patient if I don't get to you right away. I do strive to delight you in terms of customer service, with fast turnaround, safe and secure shipping and an interesting variety of treasures to select from.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Payment through PayPal is preferred however I am now delighted to be able to offer you the Direct Checkout option if that is more to your liking.
Shipping
I will select the most cost effective shipping method possible.
Rates from Canada are, unfortunately, somewhat higher than those in the US. I strive to ship the next business day after payment but it may be up to 3 business days if things on the farm are really busy (lambing season, hay season etc). I will gladly combine items purchased to reduce the overall postage cost and I will mark the item shipped on the day I mail your item.
CUSTOMS:
International customers are responsible for duties, taxes and customs fees assessed by your country. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; sellers have no control over these charges. You may contact your local customs office for more information.

When filling out customs forms, Canadian, U.S. and International government regulations prohibit sellers from marking merchandise values lower than the selling price, as well as marking items as gifts. Unfortunately, I have no control over the time it may take for your item to go through Customs before it arrives to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
If I have failed to describe something accurately I will most certainly refund your payment...no problem. I pack items as securely and responsibly as possible therefore I cannot be responsible for damage caused during the shipping process. Refunds and returns are available for 30 days from purchase.
