About

We make old things made from wood like new and make new things out of wood - well...like new.

As long as I can remember I wanted to have a woodshop where I could built stuff. When I was five years old my Grandpa let me hang around the jobsite when he built his new house. He gave me some boards, a hammer and some nails, told me to stay out of the way and build something. I built a robot. I think I named him Timmy. He was my best buddy for the whole week I was there. When Grandma and I moved to Polk City ten years ago, we found what I joking called a shop with a small house attach. It wasn't much of a shop, as a matter of fact, the city wanted to tear it down. I fooled them, I rebuilt it on weekends, evenings and whenever I had time. Had to evict the raccoons, a really old possum, some chipmunks, squirrels, and various ants, bugs, spiders and wasps. Now it's a shop. We do a lot of antique restoration from cedar chests to caned chairs, and tables of all kinds. We also build a lot of toys from tops, to trains, to airplanes and one bathtub boat. The little boy said, "it really floats - upside down." We are still working on the boat design. Custom, hand carved and hand routed sign have become a big part of our work week especially during the holidays with decorative seasonal related signs of all kinds. We just love doing almost anything with wood.

Grandma Fuzzy works a real job while Grandpa dinks around in the shop. She is the best thing to ever happen to Grandpa and she has great ideas for new things to make. Tell you about her nickname when I know you better.
