The Palm Project is a holistic network and space 🏝
The main inspiration for The Palm Project came from a particular species of palms named Copernicia Fallaensis which is endemic to Cuba. I have never been to Cuba but I’ve got to see a very few here in Miami. I was immediately fascinated by the beauty of these trees, but the real obsession began when I found out this species is in danger of extinction. I had the chance to attend a lecture from the International Palm Society about Copernicias and the Palms of Cuba. I learnt a ton of details about them, like the fact that as of 2018 there were only -84- adult palm trees of this species left in their natural habitat…
Since then the meaning of extinction and bio diversity loss really really hit me and this idea began. The vision of the Palm Project has been changing and evolving over the years on how to expand consciousness on such delicate and yet critical aspects of our relationship with the environment and that can affect our lives more than what we may think.
This Etsy shop became part of the efforts to develop an actual holistic space, the beach on the banner of the shop is where the space is being built. The holistic aspect is what will improve the relationship we have with our environment, with each other and ourselves.
Because of this vision you will notice certain details on the packaging of your order:
-Bio-degradable mailers and tape,
-Labels and order receipts are printed in paper made of bamboo instead of trees, we print 2 labels per sheet also.
-Any plastics or bubble wraps are reused and reclaimed from other shipments we receive.
We believe that every little thing helps and inspires for more creative solutions to help restore and enhance the environment.
