Just want to apologise for doubting you sent this item (I've had a couple of sellers recently who have 'sent things' that never arrived). Yesterday this arrived with the postmark April 10th (now May 10th) and I had to pay £1.50 postage to get it, despite the fact it had a stamp on it! Royal Mail really are shocking! Item and replacement didn't arrive, but requested full refund and received it. Am noticing more and more Etsy sellers having items randomly disappear in the post!

Such a cute card but the ink must not have dried on the inside and it left an imprint on the top inside of the card.

About

Waddling My Way To Success

Originally from Yorkshire, I began my crafts whilst in college, with thanks thanks to my sister. Whilst visiting her at Leeds University she took me to a cute, little bead shop tucked away from the bustling town centre. Immediately my magpie senses were tingling as I was surrounded by so many pretty shiny objects and I knew something special had started.

For years I made various Items of jewellery on and off whilst at university, not really having the time to really make a business of it, despite my best efforts. I knew that I wanted more from my shop though, a wish that is slowly becoming a reality.

When I was younger I used to make dresses for my barbies. I still have these poorly sewn together apparel stashed under my bed. It has always been a dream to one day make my own clothing.

In the Summer of 2011 I received a small sewing machine for my birthday. It may not have been the fanciest piece of equipment but it was the start of a new exciting chapter of my life. That machine has now been gifted to my cousin who is beginning to show the same passion as I did. Now I have a bigger, better machine and with it is coming bigger and better items!

Now in 2014 I have begun to make more and more sales and have many ideas for new items to make, not only to sell but also for myself! I don't plan to leave the jewellery completely untouched and would love to make bold designs which complement my clothing creations.

I have also re-realised my love of photography, especially wildlife photography, and so hope to be following this passion too. I already have plans of how to join together my photography and fashion to make one cohesive shop image and will be challenging myself greatly this year.

I really hope you enjoy my items as much as I enjoy designing, making and even packaging them!

Behind The Name:

The Penguin Theory came about after a friend told me how I'd inspired her to have a Penguin as her lifes mascot.

When I was younger I got a bit obsessive with entering lots of online competitions, I just really liked winning things, and by lots I mean LOTS. Eventually I won a game called Penguin Pile Up where you had to balance penguins on a wobbly plastic iceberg. I still actually have this game stashed under my bed (along with the barbies), and it has definitely been used quite a bit!

This lead to the theory that as long as you keep trying and don’t give up, one day you’re bound to win something. After all, you can only get back the amount of energy you put in.

Because of this we decided to adopt 'The Penguin Theory' as a way of life to help us through the harder times by reminding us that as long as we keep trying we will be successful.

Hopefully this name will bring this shop, and it's customers, lots of well earned success!

I am very bubbly and cheerful and hope to bring these out in my designs. I am also heavily influenced by nature, a theme I intend to work on more in the next year. I work my crafting around a job in a pub but have big ambitions for The Penguin Theory

Hello and Welcome!

This started out as a nice hobby introduced to me by my sister when she found a nice bead shop in Leeds and I started making simple jewellery for myself. It quickly became an obsession and now I have expanded to sewing and photography as well.

My items are big, bold, fun and quirky. A lot of my up-and-coming items are going to have a big influence from nature, helped by my love of nature photography. I have big plans for 2014 so please keep your eye out!
