On Etsy since 2020

I've been crafting, painting and drawing for over 20 years. If you are family or friends, you knew you were probably getting something homemade for Christmas. A week and a half before I would lose my job, and for the time-being career due to the pandemic, we rescued a little black lab; his joy, sweetness and silliness was such a blessing in a hard time. Inspired by my pup, I started small with making bandanas for him-- he was too cute not to. By fall, I had found joy again in being able to create, make art, and projects, and decided to expand upon that and sell my work.

I love being able to create. I take inspiration from the things I see, the places I go, the special people-- and pups-- in my life, and I love being able to translate those things into my work. It brings me joy creating items for others that I know they'll treasure.

Thank you for helping to support The Plaid Badger! -Jenny

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my dog's neck/ collar size?

Use a soft tape measure and gently wrap around your pup's neck at the position of where the bandana will rest. Tape measure should be snug but not tight; allow enough space for two fingers between the tape measure and your pup's neck. If you don't have a soft measure, a piece of string will also do the trick. Simply measure the string with a ruler with following the same procedure.

Sizing details

If your pet falls outside of the size range mentioned, please message me directly and I'll be happy to help you. I've gotten pretty good at sizing and estimation -- fun fact -- I used to work in formal wear and could accurately guess a man's coat size from just appearance. Apparently it's a skill that's carried over. 😀

If your dog is right on the edge or between sizes, I generally recommend sizing up.
