Allison’s book sculptures are positively beautiful. The details were spot on and truly makes for a unique and special gift. She was a pleasure to work with and she takes her customers’ requests to heart in order to make such one-of-a-kind creations. Love it!

Could not have bought a more creative, unique, one-of-a-kind, beautifully and imaginatively constructed artwork. If you love literature, sculpture, art, this will exceed your expectations. The artist is superbly talented, and a joy to with whom to work. I award her all the stars in the sky!

About

Repurposed Books into Art pieces

I am a life-long bookseller and avid reader. I began making these book sculptures when struggling to come up with a gift for my boss, celebrating the ten year anniversary of her bookstore. There was no book I could give her that she hadn't already discerned, so I decided to take a favorite book of poems and reconfigure it into a tree. Dismantling a book is not done without consciousness. Books are precious items. All the books used in my art have been loved and read, and are chosen because of their particular worth. Taking apart text, line by line, I like to think I am reading these books in a different way. Words take on different meanings when isolated or spun into a physical form. These art pieces are an attempt to read words as objects.

Returns and exchanges
I will gladly refund payment for any sculpture that arrives damaged do to insufficient packaging. Each package is carefully wrapped to ensure safe transit and inside are detailed instructions for how to remove the sculpture from the wrappings. Please notify me within 2 business days of any damage incurred in shipping, with a picture of the damage and the box in which it arrived.

These sculptures are all one-of-kind handmade works of art. They are delicate and will vary in shape and size. Some elements of the sculpture may seem flexible or able to be slightly manipulated, but this is not recommended. The text strips are easily ripped or damaged with manipulation. No refunds will be issued for damage incurred through manipulation.

Any custom work involves as much communication with the buyer as they desire, including status reports and photos of work progress. Because of this, I cannot offer refunds on custom work.
