The neckaces I bought were all lovely! Good craftsmanship and exceptional service from Suz - she send out the parcel the day after I put in the order. It arrived safely packaged and she even included a little bonus I was not expecting. I highly recomend purchasing from this shop, and will be doing so myself in the future!

About

Each day is a gift, open now!

My life is exactly how I want it to be. Not many people can say that. I do what I love, and love what I do.
A master gardener, printmaker, chef, chicken keeper, and world traveler. Mother of 2 grown children, and married to Bob Terzuola who is a rock star in the world of custom knives. Together we work in our shop. It is a gift to share the love of making things with my life partner.
I share my life through my shop: art, jewelry, delicious jams and pickles from my garden.

More later, but you get the idea. :-)

Ciao, ciao!!

A retired movie/tv costumer. I started making jewelry from the scraps of my husband's exotic knife handle materials. Before I knew it 10 knife makers had sent me boxes of their scraps, and so began Polkadot Magpie.

Welcome to my shop! I've been making things with my hands all my life. For most of my life I was a print maker and painter. While teaching art in Florence Italy I met a woman who was a long time movie costumer. She convinced me to become a costumer and work for her. I did for many years. But there was little satisfaction in the movie biz for me.

So last year I "retired" from movies and television. I decided to make jewelry. I had been picking and making things for my costuming job. Early on I had some formal jewelry making training. But I never had the studio/shop after school to make things. Now comes the fun part...

I married a very famous custom knife maker. I was always looking at his scraps of metal, horn, carbon fiber and thinking that I could make some sort of jewelry out of them. Now I have. At first it was strange working in his shop with him. But now we're shoulder to shoulder making things we love to make together. Can it get any better than that? I don't think so.We designed and made our own wedding rings. After that,I knew I would be working making jewelry in his shop.

I continue to rummage through antique shops and flea markets looking for bits for my jewelry. I also put out a call to some other knife makers. They sent me some fabulous materials to work with. I am in touch with a plane bone yard in Arizona who sent pieces of titanium. There will be more things made out of airplane parts.

I feel like I am so blessed to do what I love, with the people I love. Recycling is very important to me, so that is why I am up cycling materials to make jewelry and items for your home.

I work in BATCHES. From the time your payment clears to shipping is usually 3-5 days. If you have a sensitive time issue, just convo me and see what Batch I am currently working on. I can let you know when it will ship.

Thanks for stopping by!
