The necklace is wonderful, exactly how it's pictured. Also, the chain seems very sturdy, yet not overly heavy. I'm giving this as a gift this year, and can't wait to see their face!!!

About

& The Search is On...

Many a year ago, I was fortunate to have an old time dime store in the center of the town which we called the Circle. With weekly allowance in hand, I made a weekly trek to the store which was filled with offerings to foster anyone's creative spirit; yarn, needle and thread, pattern books, multitudes of paper, paint, pencils, ink pens, stencils, and you guessed it, everything needed to create the latest jewelry trend.

At age 12 a neighbor offered to sponsor a craft table for me at a town fair to sell the wire rings that I was making. When the day arrived, in an effort to keep up with a supply of rings, I created them in front of onlookers. Apparently this caught the eye of a voting board, for at the end of the day I was given a blue ribbon, which was quite a surprise for a 12 year old who knew nothing of it's existence!

Though I dabbled in different art forms these early years, I eventually found myself making jewelry time and time again. My father recognized that the pieces I made were trendy and being worn at his place of business. He insisted that a corner of his desk become a little storefront for them, and so began my second adventure with jewelry making. Neither business adventure lasted very long, though both were such enjoyable experiences for one so young, and I am ever so thankful for the support given to me, for without them I would not be doing what I am today.

I put jewelry making aside as I indulged in crochet and needle arts, until several years ago; I was searching online for a specific sun piece of jewelry to gift, and when I couldn't find it made, I went on a supply hunt, found a remarkable place called Etsy and I never left! I've always enjoyed hunting for unique little treasures, and to once again create jewelry seemed to be the perfect fit!

I seek to discover the most unusual of adornments and transform them into wearable art; hopefully pieces with symbolism and heartfelt regard for those things one might treasure in life.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Per the USPS, packages are said to be delivered within 1-5 days, though this is an average and delivery could take longer dependent on the destination.

Please note that I can no longer send orders out by Priority Mail due to living in a smaller town and time constraints. Rest assured however, that I will always do my best to see that your package is shipped ASAP.

I am best reached through the Etsy Convo system which I check frequently. Please do not contact me via email if your matter is urgent as email is checked less frequently. Thank you!

Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that Most of the brass pieces used in my jewelry are from vintage stampings, or tooling, meaning that a piece of brass is pressed over a vintage stamping form, cut out, and the back of the piece is a hollowed out image of the front.

I will sometimes use castings when making earrings, (poured metal into a form) and will duly note this within the descriptions. These may be hollowed out as well, though heavier in nature.

In most cases the components I use are new and fashioned from vintage tooling. Some of the stampings/tools date back to the turn of the the century. I do offer some vintage pieces, and will mention this in their listing.

Care of Raw Brass Jewelry

Generally the pieces I make have antique finishes which were applied and sealed, will not tarnish or require cleaning with the exception of raw brass and heat treated brass. Following are some helpful hints for these pieces:

For the "heat treated" pieces that I do, they can be left alone to darken with patina, or as I sometimes like to do, buff the piece with a soft cloth bringing out the highlights from time to time.

Some pieces I've left in the raw brass state. Raw brass can glisten like gold, which is why it was so popular, though will like silver tarnish over time. It is however, ever so easy to care for. Following are some options for cleaning your raw brass jewelry:

Brass cleaners found in most grocery stores - "Wrights" is my favorite.

Polishing Cloths

A little olive oil lightly rubbed with a soft cloth over the piece will help slow down the tarnishing process.

Just a couple of minutes is all it takes to return your jewelry to it's lovely golden state!

However, some prefer the patina it acquires over time, it's up to you!
