Since I was six years old, I've loved playing in the dirt... or to be more specific, creating with the dirt. Clay is an amazing medium; abundant and messy and elegant and full of surprises. It has memory when you're working with it, and boundaries as to how far you can take it. Glaze is a whole other world that binds to and illuminates these surfaces.

In the summer of 2011, my husband and I and a rousing group of eccentric actor friends, put on Shakespeare's 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' on the outdoor stage in our back yard. We used this dramatic platform to raise money for NAP ; The Neighborhood Art Project, a local program that brings art to kids in deserving neighborhoods in Taos. It was an unprecedented success and thus the NAP program grew and the theater company, Teatro Serpiente (www.teatroserpiente.com) was born. Out of this creative community event, my quoted cups emerged as functional memorabilia to buy and drink out of during intermissions. Their popularity grew and like the theater company today, still thrive.

I love making things that make people happy. I'm very lucky and very grateful every day to be able to work with clay in my beautiful studio in Taos, New Mexico.
