Broken Brains is founded by myself, Eric X. I am an artist, model, performer and designer. Every piece is wearable art, fusing fashion with function. Starting in 2006, I began making designs for myself before expanding, by request, to design for others. Broken Brains’ designs are featured in performances and art shows, fashion shows and private collections. Having shown internationally, Broken Brains is poised to be a staple in any cyber-industrial wardrobe.
Each piece by Broken Brains is a guaranteed unique, one of a kind design--no two are alike. As an artist, I brings my passion, creativity, and attention to detail into designing for my customers with a wide variety of materials. My painting techniques allows for gas masks to retain their art for years to come. Custom orders are easily matched for specific outfits, with comfort that removes the need of sacrificing sight for fashion. With vivid colors and bold designs, I have collaborated with fellow designers to transcend limits and push boundaries. I have worked with Perish, Apnea, and Dawnamatrix Designs among others. A Broken Brains product elevates the wearer to becoming part of the art spectacle, and reactive to the environment with elements such as UV paint.

5 out of 5 starsThey're completely and utterly mental (in a good way haha). I wore them to a Hippy Dippy Festival in the U.K, where everyone was dressed up in Tye dye and Pikachu outfits, and I had loads of people queuing up to take a look in awe at these Masterpieces.

5 out of 5 starsJust got them! Super fast shipping, awesome. I haven't been able to find spiked UV goggles like this for a long time, and even then it was from mainland Europe. My boyfriend and I are industrial/EBM club-goers here in NJ and these will be an excellent gift. I'll definitely keep an eye out for sales- I might splurge and get something for myself sometime. :)
About TheRealBrokenBrains
Broken Brains in my apartment
I started out in 2006 making stuff in my apartment in NH. I would do most of the work upstairs in the apartment, but I had my own storage section in the basement which I was able to use for painting my products. As I progressed, I had decided that I wanted to paint my gas masks and respirators. This proved to be the hardest thing to accomplish. I tried over and over again to paint a gas mask without the paint cracking, flaking, or falling off. I just kept experimenting with different spray paints. Once I finally found the right paint, I needed to figure out how to get the colors I wanted. More experimentation... more failure. Finally I found a way that worked. I was able to get the paint to stick and paint almost any color I wanted, including crackle coats on rubber. It is a complicated process which involves overlapping paints at the right times, heat and humidity play a big part in this process.
I have since relocated just outside of Boston, MA. I am currently working out of my apartment in which I have a painting booth set up in the basement once again.
