Announcement   I am back! It's been since December 2015 my son's leukemia returned and I've had to put my shop, my sawdust therapy, on hold. Jack received a bone marrow transplant in April 2016 but continues to struggle with complications due to treatments. He's in a good place right now, so it's time for me to get back to work. Thank you all for your understanding.

Welcome to The Reclaimed Life where I like to make old new again! Every item is unique - I do not mass and each item is made to order. I would love to make something for your home, business or as a gift for loved one. Please contact me with any questions or special requests you might have.

She was unable to complete the transaction due to very serious family medical issues. But she handled the sale wonderfully and refunded the money right away. I do wish I could have caught her before she issued the refund, I would have liked to have just let her keep it. I pray your son recovers quickly.

About

Wow. To be a stay-at-home mom. After working since I was 14, it was a hard thing to do. I lost myself a little bit. But I found me again with woodworking.

I've built furniture, re-purposed anything that wasn't falling apart, and put paint on everything. Now I've settled into what I love -- making old wood look good again. You see, I think all this lumber has a story to tell. I don't know where most of it began, or where it's been, but I would rather rescue it from the landfill or side of the road, than to have it filling up our dumps.

Making this art is therapy for me as well. My son, born in 2005 with Down syndrome, has twice fought leukemia. But he is not out of the woods. Archaic forms of cancer treatment has him battling for his life over and over. But when he is on a stretch of good days, I find myself in the garage, the place where I can exhale and create.

I hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I enjoy making them.
