Announcement   Trying to keep up...something new everyday!

I'm adding a couple of new items - handmade, unique calendars, boxed card sets and magnets.

Vintage greeting cards - reimagined. Vintage greeting cards - whimsically reimagined. Hand colored. Hand sewn. Embossed, embroidered, embellished, glittered and glued.

Many of my treasures come from my mother's scrapbooks from the 1930's. I also collect old postcards and greeting cards from around the world: Flea markets - Les Puces in Paris, the Rastro in Madrid, the Blesi Trh in Prague, The Mercato delle Puci in Florence, Portobello Road in London, the Flohmarkt in Heidelberg and the Rose Bowl in Southern California - have provided many wonderful and captivating cards. The unique amalgam of styles, colors, shapes and sentiments (not to mention Scottish Terriers!) from the past inspired me to create these cards.

Welcome to my shop! I hope you'll enjoy my "reimagined" take on these vintage cards. Each rendering is one of a kind. Please check back often as I will be adding Birthday, Valentine's Day, Easter, Graduation and "just because" cards. Thanks.

I bought this for dad for his birthday that's coming soon. I know that he will love & cherish this birthday card. Especially since my dad is descended from Scottish ancestry and since he served his LDS Mission in Scotland.

About

My mother before me

After my mother passed away, I found her scrapbooks that she made in high school and college. The mid-late 1930's.

I think she saved every greeting card she ever received her entire life, but the ones that really caught my eye were the ones in her scrapbooks.

I really came to love the art deco ones, and thought it would be fun to update them - "energize" them.

It's been a lot of fun working on these cards. I try to inject as much whimsy into them as I can, but many times I find the slightest touches of glitter (right on, Martha Stewart!) are a perfect accent.

I miss the older style of cards. I really miss receiving cards in the mail and am not fond of e-cards.

Receiving greeting cards in the mail makes me feel really special...

Welcome to the Reimagined Past. All the greeting cards I sell are scanned from postcards or greeting cards I have collected over the years. Many of them come from my mother's scrapbooks dating from the late 1930's when she was at the College of William and Mary.

Each has been personally embellished with a variety of materials...whatever strikes me at the moment.

I hope you'll find them fun!
