As a book lover, I've always wanted a way to capture the magic of reading. My line of fandom candles truly make the stories come alive!

Hey everyone and welcome to Dancing Lights Chandlery!

I am a tattoo apprentice and artist in North Florida. I enjoy making soaps, candles, stickers, prints, resin work and sculpture, and I'm a huge book nerd. The shop name derives from a cantrip in Dungeons and Dragons that allows you to summon balls of light.

I have started a line of fandom candles based off of the Harry Potter houses, as well as a large Twilight collection. I'm also working on a Zodiac line! I plan on branching out with other book series, games, TV shows, and movie fandoms as well, so if there are characters or places you'd like to see (smell?) message me and let me know for future lines!

I do also sell non-themed candles, and take custom orders of any size!

***Please keep in mind that all my candles are handmade, with labels I design and print at home, that I then cut out by hand. I test at least one candle out of every batch (and usually multiples) before posting them for sale and genuinely hope to give you an amazing experience. There may be small imperfections in the cut of your label, and soy candles are known for "frosting" (creating a pale splotchiness throughout the wax) and sweating out small droplets of fragrance oil on the surface of the wax before it has fully melted across the top. None of these should cause your candle to burn improperly or for the fragrance to be dull, or for it to be any less lovely when displayed! However, if for any reason you aren't happy, please let me know and I will do everything I can to make things right. ***

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Custom candles or skincare can be created for you, no matter how big or small of an order you'd like to place! Simply send me a message and I will send you all the information you'll need to get started.

Soy Candle Care instructions

Trim wicks to 1/4" every time before lighting.
Soy candles can "sweat", where small amounts of fragrance oil will bead up on the surface of the candle before the top layer of wax has fully melted. This should not interfere with the candle's ability to burn.
Mini candles should not burn more than 2 hours at a time.
All other candles should burn no more than 4-6 hours at a time.
Never leave a candle unattended or near flammable items.

I've ordered the same candle/soap twice, but it's a slightly different shade of wax/glitter!

I try to keep all of my measurements exactly the same, and I work in small batches to ensure you have a fresh candle or soap and that I don't have stock backed up for months. However, naturally there will be minor differences in how potent the dye happens to be, so sometimes the candles will be a shade off. However, I try to match as best as I can every time! With glitter, sometimes companies cease to exist and I have to find new sources, so from time to time, glitter consistency, amount, or color may be slightly different than a previous batch. With fragrance, there can be seasonal or discontinued scents, but again, I try and match as best as I possibly can!

Is this a wet spot between the candle and the glass?

Nope! A natural reaction to the wax cooling quickly, it simply hasn't adhered fully to the glass. This has no effect on the candle's performance.

Can I rep you on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr etc. in exchange for free candles?

How do I get the best melt for my candle?

Be sure that when you light your candles, you plan on leaving them lit for about two hours so that there is an even "melt pool" of wax across the entire surface. This reduces the chance of "tunneling", where the candle isn't burning evenly around the outside and tunnels down into the candle without burning all the wax.

My soap has started sweating!

No, don't worry! It's a natural reaction to the humectants in soap. Humectants draw moisture from the air, so the more humid the environment, the higher chance you'll see this happening. I could use high-humidity bases for my soaps, but I try and be as chemical-free as possible, and I've yet to find a good organic substitute for my current products. It does not affect the quality of the soap at all, and disappears after using it.

What is a lotion bar?

Lotion bars are a very moisturizing body lotion in solid form. They look like a bar of soap but are used on dry skin. They typically have very few ingredients, including a raw, organic butter (shea, mango, avocado, etc), a virgin, unrefined, cold-pressed oil (sweet almond, coconut, argan, etc), organic beeswax pellets, and essential or fragrance oils. I also use nutrient-rich extracts for added skin benefits!
