Frequently asked questions

What botanicals are grown by The Sage Cottage?

Honeysuckle, White Pine, Cedar, Yarrow, Meadowsweet, Hibiscus, Calendula, Rose, Patchouli, Lavender, Chamomile, Sweetgrass, White Sage, Lemon Balm, and Rosemary ✿

When will purchases ship?

Each listing specifies an estimated ship date to reflect the number of orders already waiting to be crafted, and the amount of time needed for our gardens to grow. Shipping times vary per listing and according to seasonal workloads. Once purchased an order's estimated ship time will be available in Etsy Purchases. Please visit our Etsy shop announcement for important updates about ship times. We craft in tiny batches. Large orders may require additional time to be created. If need be we will provide a new estimated ship date in the Etsy order system. Once an order's shipping label is printed, Etsy will forward a shipping notification with USPS tracking number. We ship USPS Insured ✿

What are the shop policies?

We ask all customers to please review listings, FAQs, and shop policies prior to purchase. Customers are responsible for the proper care and use of all crafts once received. All text and photos in this shop are property of The Sage Cottage and are not for use by any person or entity ✿

Does The Sage Cottage offer Wholesale?

We are not a wholesaler. We craft in tiny batches using the daily harvest of blooms and herbs from our cottage gardens ✿

What is suggested for dealing with issues regarding USPS service?

We ship USPS Insured. Due to difficult working conditions packages may at times experience rough handling by USPS. Please keep in mind that conditions are not always ideal for our hard working mail carriers, or for those working to sort, store, and transport mail. The Sage Cottage is not responsible for lost or missing packages sent to the name and address provided at time of purchase. We share USPS tracking information so that customers may follow up on the shipping status of orders. Tracking data may also be used to create a request for USPS to locate lost or missing packages. If your package is missing, is badly damaged, or has been opened, please contact USPS for resolution ✿

How are crafts packaged?

We often use an open tissue paper packaging to cradle the bouquets, but at times we wrap the bundles individually. We want to give you a heads up on the change, as some customers may have preferences on tissue wrap. We are attempting to get through some handling issues with USPS. If you have any issues please know we use USPS Insured ✿

May my order be shipped to a location other than the address provided at checkout?

No, all orders ship to the address provided at checkout, we have no method for any change of address, that is the responsibility of buyers to enter a correct location for shipping ✿

May I request a rush order?

Customers in need of a specific ship time may visit our Shop Announcement for info on our processing times, and also in individual listing under ship times. As we craft in tiny batches, we have no ability to speed the time of gardens growing or botanicals drying ✿

How may I protect my dry botanical bouquet bundles?

Dry botanicals are able to draw in moisture from damp conditions, then they discolor once dried. Our work is known for its bright colors which last years without fading, if kept dry, in a temperature controlled space away from direct sunlight. Some rose petals may turn brown, and some lavender may turn black. Such is nature. We appreciate natural blooms and herbs no matter their color. We do not recommend storing dry botanical bundles in containers! Our own bouquets remain on an open shelf until used. Some petals and blooms may come loose from their bouquet bundle during shipping or over time. Please feel free to tuck them back in, or simply enjoy them separately ✿

What is the link between EMF-related mold and dry botanicals?

We are big fans of nature and the natural world, so we avoid most tech. Society is now using frequencies which do cause harm to natural materials, such as dry florals.
