Growing up in such a majestic place, I didn't realize how lucky I was. Picking huckleberries with my family and watching grizzly bears emerge at last light. It took me years to realize what I have in Montana. I've been truly blessed.
I've always found comfort in nature. Simply put, it's what I know. Most people find comfort and security in a 9:00 to 5:00. Not me! My comfort comes from the sound of a camp fire, the bugle of a bull elk, and scaling the highest peaks Montana has to offer.
One of my favorite pastimes was sifting through gravel with my family looking for sapphires. I remember my mom's face lighting up when she'd find one of these beautiful gems. I didn't realize at the time how rare sapphires are. In fact Montana is the only place in the USA that has good deposits of these wonderful gemstones.
Sapphire is the 2nd hardest mineral on the planet. The only thing that will scratch it is a diamond. This makes it a great choice for jewelry. Montana sapphires come in many colors: blue, green, pink, purple, yellow, orange, etc. They can also be clear. The clear sapphire is known as the white sapphire and it's an excellent conflict free diamond substitute.
After years of seeking these cardinal gems out, I've decided to share my love of sapphires with folks throughout the good old USA. Why you ask? Simple, not everyone has this unique opportunity in their back yard. I want others to be able to get a hold of these truly unique stones. I have the time, the connections, and the know-how to find and bring sapphires to market.
