Boldly, Beautiful Hats & Unique Accessories
Born in 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri Bridgette Cook is a self taught Milliner and Artist.
As a young girl, around the age of 10 Bridgette fell in love with the elegant beauty and romance of the gorgeous costumes of Classic Films and Musicals, such as The Great Ziegfeld, 1936, The Scarlet Pimpernel 1931, Gone With The Wind 1939, My Fair Lady 1964. Costumes were and are for her an expression of Art in Motion. Beauty you could wear.
Bridgette began creating wearable art in the form of Feather Wings and Venetian Masks early in 2000, from there she progressed to the Boldly, Beautiful Hats that she now has become known for. Bridgette creates New Vintage in the form of historical hats from the Renaissance Period as well as the Victorian Era, adding into the mix the flavor of Steampunk to her repertoire – and what you get is a uniquely eclectic wearable art piece in the form of a hat.
Bridgette is constantly on the lookout for vintage jewelry which she incorporates into her hat designs – it is these unique pieces that help create that special, one of a kind look. Without any formal training the creation of these wearable art pieces was a process of trial and error for her. Bridgette believes that each design has been an evolution of ideas leading to new and more creative designs that people and customers come back for time and again.
The Costume University discovered Bridgette’s hats in 2011 and has purchased them for Dolly Parton and her newest Theme Park venture in Florida.
Bridgette lives in Ocala,Florida and travels to shows across the United States to display and sell her hats.
